Running game?

Gore was only good as his Oline, and the Oline was pretty bad. They were also bad in pass protection (see colts vs jets), until we solidify the Oline it doesn't matter if the QB has ice in his viens and football smart.

I find it funny how some fans still cling to the "we almost beat" this team and that team line. You all should petition the league for a Moral Victory trophy. By that same token, Rams almost beat the Saints, Texans almost beat the Colts, and Redskins almost beat the Cowboys. We should hand them all a trophy too.

Good teams win the close the games and bad and mediocre teams lose the close ones. That's the difference between the teams that make the playoffs and the rest of the league. Playoff teams show balls and don't go conservative when they have a marginal lead in the 4th quarter like the 9ers did in Indianapolis and Minnesota. Playoff teams don't come out completely lost and without a game plan like the 9ers did in Green Bay, Houston, or Philadelphia.

Playcalling and the decisions a QB makes plays a HUGE role in the Oline. Also, Gore was still a top 5 back and teams still game planned against him. Our QBs have yet to make them pay for it because they cannot come through in critical situations.

Minnesota's Oline has sucked for years now, so has GB's and Peyton Manning doesn't have a great OLine, he just gets the ball out too quick which is why you don't blitz him all game. Most QB's generally get the same time to throw. It's just that some OC's call better plays at the right time and those QB's find the right guy in critical moments.

Ok so where is the Offensive Coordinator on your list?

It's not as high of a priority as QB is.

Childress and McCaulley looked like just as much idiots as Raye until they had Favre. You can make the same case for Norv Turner.

How did Favre look his first 3 years?

How great would Moore's offensive scheme be without Manning?

How did Favre look his first 3 years?

He may not have been a paper champ like Smith, but Favre sure as hell passed some eye tests and made a few amazing plays here and there in critical situations.
