he did earn it this year but you can't help but think that the pro bowl has lost some credibility with all the alternates taking over.

It happens every year. That's why there are alternates.

he deserved it anyway, i think he had the best year of the NFC running backs.....(one of the best averages in the nfl behind Johnson), a better avg than the other pro bowl rb's and 2nd in scoring.....would of been 1st in scoring if he played 3 more games, not to mention at least 200 yards.
He deserved it.
Really huh? Check the stats bro. He's behind Johnson, Charles, Thomas, Bush, Rice, behind both Carolina RB's, McGahee & greene. would've been first in scoring if he hadn't missed the 3 games? really think so huh?
Um, maybe you should check the stats.
He's behind Johnson, Charles, Rice, Williams and Stewart. Which means he's third in the NFC behind two guys on a team that does nothing but run the ball.
McGahee and Greene don't even have 550 yards rushing, and barely even 1,000 yards combined. Bush doesn't even sniff 400 yards. Why not throw Cribbs in there while you're at it? He rushed for only 9 less yards than Bush and his ypc is 6.9, holy s**t, that makes him better than Chris Johnson!
He may not have lead the league in scoring, but he would have definitely been in the top five for sure if he didn't miss those games. Give the guy some goddamn credit.
if were talking about YPC, it doesnt matter if the guys in front of him run the ball a million times, or not at all. YPC is what you do with what you get. theres no carry biases.
but yes, Gore deserves to go. he deserved to go over DeAngelo Williams also. he was a fantastic back this year, as usual, even when his team chose to pass more than run. he scored a career high 13 TD's.
Frank got the job done, even with a horrible run blocking line on a spread offense. major props.
Really? No carry bias? With that logic, Steve Breaston should be te starting running back for the NFC. If you don't have 150+ carries you don't belong in the discussion.
The point is, given the circumstances, Gore had quite an impressive year and deserves to go.

How about all credibility. Look at the AFC, Brady, Roethlisberger and Rivers all pulled out. Manning will probably make the Superbowl and obviously he won't be there. That's the top 4 QB's in the AFC not gonna be playing. Pro bowl is a joke now.

Wait til the super bowl moves to Detroit again. None of the players will show up injured or not.

wrong. Justin Smith deserves a pro bowl spot 10 times more than Gore does. and Gore deserved to go. Smith was the best at his position in the NFL. one of the biggest snubs in pro bowl history if he doesnt go.

you know what i mean. if a RB gets 150 carries and has a 5.4 ypc avg, he likely wouldve been around that number with 300 carries. if youre good, youre good. if you carry the ball 150 times and go for 5.4 every time? you could just as well carry it 5.4 per rush for another 150.
its like batting avg in baseball. if a guy plays 100 games and hits .330, or he plays 162 games and hits .330, he was a .330 caliber hitter no matter how you slice it. when he had the chance to hit, he hit .330.
when a RB has a chance to run, and he averages 5.0+ per carry, and he had somewhat of a respectable amount, thats who he was, regardless of doing it 25 times a game for a 16 game season.

COngrats to the man. He had some great runs this year and still broke 1k missing a few games. Good job. I know the bar isn't really 1000 anymore but he did it 4 in a row. Can't turn down on a free ride inclusive to Hawaii and some extra loot.
Go Niners
Actually I was at the probowl last year and it was the last one in hawaii! Which is a damn shame it has been played there for as long as I can remember! But the benefit for gore is this year he gets to play near where he played at the U and his home state! So go gore and congrates
