Three things Davis needs to improve to make All Pro
1. Cut drops in half.
2. Eliminate penalties.
3. Learn to run routes.

Just think if two or three of those dropped passes had been caught we would have won an extra game or two putting us into the post season.

I agree... Like M. Barrows said:
"The All-Pro voting is done by select sportswriters (not me!), who tend to look at the receiving statistics"
49ers seek special-teams....
He needs to hit the jug machine like a mad man again this offseason to continue his improvement. It was great to hear that he was always spotted working on getting leaner and working on his hands this past offseason and look at how well that payed off for him!

That is exactly what I was going to say.

Mcnabb has a more talented team than the first two superbowl teams led by Montana. And he couldnot beat the cowboys once this season. I rather have Anderson from Cleveland than take Mcnabb whom is overatted

Damn the truth hurts.
I think he needs to work on the hands and dumb mistakes he makes. If he can back up those numbers next year and tweek the minor things, no doubt he gets it next year.

That's a pretty bold statement...anderson has had 1 good year got the contract and hasnt done crap since. Mcnabb although hasnt won a SB is still better than anderson, he's good for atleast a 90+ rating when healthy. Mcnabb has been to the playoffs 7 times as a starter and made 5 pro bowls.

But holding the TD record for TEs should earn an All-Pro at TE.
Absolutely!
People can say what they will about the balls Vernon didn't catch, but the numbers speak for themseleves. No TE, has EVER caught more TD's than Davis this year.
It easy to complain that he "should" have did more. However, if you stop to appreciate what he DID do, it's an awesome achievement.

VD led the NFL in non OL penalties, and in drops. he also was a bad blocker this year. honestly the only thing he did well, was catch TD's and get yardage. i dont blame anyone for not calling him elite yet, or making him all pro. hes starting the pro bowl, which is enough recognition.

Agree, if his hands would have been more consistent this season he would have won it easily!
And it would have helped if he had an a qb that threw with more accuracy

He has also taken less talented teams to conference championships..head and shoulders over smith.
