49ers Offseason Changes Tracker

From the end of the 2009 to the beginning of next season, it would be interesting to track what changes our GM head coach and GM are making to improve the personnel and coaching staff for next season. Here is a list to start, so can we add on to it and evaluate it on a periodical basis. Interviewing a for new coaching position can also be part of the list as well as player tryouts...

2. January 6, 2010: Signed OT Alex Boone, LB Martail Burnett, DT Khalif Mitchell and WR Dominique Zeigler to future contracts

3. January 8, 2010: Larry MacDuff interviewed for Special Teams Coordinator.

4. January 11, 2010: Signed TE Joe Jon Finley to a future contract.

5. January 12, 2010: Signed FB Jehuu Caulcrick to a future contract.

6. January 12, 2010: Bobby April interviewed for Special Teams Coordinator.

7. January 14, 2010: Bobby April hired by Philadelphia Eagles.

8. January 14, 2010: Hired Kurt Schottenheimer as Special Teams Coordinator.

9. January 21, 2010: OL coach Chris Foerster allowed to go to Washington.

10. January 21, 2010: Singletary hires Mike Solari as new OL coach.

11. January 22, 2010: Signed G Brian de la Puente to a future contract.

12. January 27, 2010: Hired Ray Brown as assistant offensive line coach

13. Feb 4, 2010: 49ers signed TE Tony Curtis and CB Keith Smith to future contracts

14. Feb 5, 2010: Singletary allows offensive quality control aide Shane Day to take promotional position with the Chicago Bears as quarterbacks coach

15. Feb 23, 2010: 49ers put franchise tag on Aubrayo Franklin

16. March 2, 2010: 49ers tendered one-year contracts to Ahmad Brooks (2nd round tender) and Guard David Baas (original round tender); Allow marcus Hudson to test Free Agency

I think it would be cool to add, player try outs and coaching interviews. We could track who and why, that is who we wanted, and why it didn't work out. This would give a fuller picture of what the brain trust is planning. But it is your thread so.. yeah... okay.

Good idea to track activity.

Bad Idea to speculate why the powers that be did what they did or why things worked out the way they did. It will only start a Million arguements and destroy this thread.

More to the point, we'll never find out about the real rationale behind the various decisions until years after the fact--if at all.
