Hey, If we all e-mail the niners everyday maybe we can get this guy canned!
GC and anyone else who'd like to answer, I have a question regarding the oline and maybe you have seen this in your studies. Do you think the line is tipping plays? I know most teams do by personnel and formation but are we making it too easy? Thanks in advance.

True that. I'm hoping that this is just temporary until some of the real good coaches are available. If he and Sullivan are both here next season we'll be doomed and I'll be pissed.

Man, what a bad joke this is. Before season was over, i posted that bigMike's first move would be to can foerster and get us a top flite OL coach. And then he actually endorses the guy? Sheesh. Big mike is a great motivator, has not been bothered by being an Xs and Os type of guy, knows little if any O, has never had OC or DC (or their assts either) training, and as i have posted numerous times, just hasn't had the requisite experience to be a HC in the bigs. Maybe he thinks being a HOFer and motivator is enough, but we all know differently.
He and mcCLOWN are making a huge mistake with this move, which reeks of not observing the obvious: foerster just doesn't have it. He also should be having input on all the OLs he follows in the NCAA, but i wouldn't trust anything the guy had to say re: OL talent. We are doomed to mediocrity once again, by an unqualified HC, GM, and owner's kid, and the inability of scot or bigmike to come up with a really quality OL coach is merely because when other assistants were putting time in the trenches, going from team to team, big mike was giving motivational speeches.
Unfortunately, at those speeches he wasn't introduced to or exposed to the other coaching talent in the nfl and man does it ever show. He probably has no idea who to ask as an OL coach, because he just doesn't know most of the guys he coaches against. His experience as LB coach is just such a far cry from being experienced enough to be HC that it is laughable. The foerster endorsement just proves bigmike is in way over his head, and sadly, so is mcclown. This is a disastrous non-move.
So go bigmike, and go scot, go far, far away. The longer you jokers stick around the longer it will be til we get competitive again. I will say this: we do have the HC with the best creds to do a motivational speech. Man do i ever hope he returns to that racket.

Well lets see what Forester can do with some better O-Lineman, at least a good RT. Im not a big Forester fan but I don't think he is a bum either, Tony Dungy swears by the guy, he was Dungy's O-Line coach for 6 years in Tampa where they ran the ball really well and Dungy took him to Indy with him. Brian Billick thought so highly of him he named him O-Line coach and assistant head coach in Baltimore. I think we could do worse (George Warhop) and I don't think Singletary would be able to hire anyone better so I think it is for the best that we do keep Forester, keep some continuity and if it doesen't work next year we can blow things up.
One thing in particular that I fault Foerster for is that he couldn't teach the linemen how to properly push the defensive lineman in order to stop them from batting down Smith's passes. I feel that this one example is a microcosm of everything that has been wrong with Foerster. No adjustments at all.

Well again I could argue Eric Heitman just does not hold up at the point of attack, Baas played with a bad foot injury, Rachal was a mental mess the first half of the season and Adam Snyder just sucks. We'll see what happens this year...

Every NFL team tips it's hand, the Patriots were the first to give up on hiding "run or pass". You can have have you back at an angle on pass plays but it had better be flat on run plays, if you let you pads (shoulder pads) rise up to soon on running plays you lose leverage. You need to make contact as low as possible and keep you hips under you as you run up under the d lines pads. If you start to high you never get any movement. You need also need an explosive first step, the drill to develop this is real simple and boring! but if you don't drill it you can't do it!
On every play watch the tackles, on pass they will be in a two point stance with their outside legs winged back. on run they will be in a three point stance, old school is a three point stance on every play.

1. Jim Hueber (asst. O-line coach, Vikings)
2.Larry Zierlein (most realistic choice, ex-Steelers O-line coach 2007-2009).
3. Steve Addazio (o-line coach, Florida Gators).
4. Frank Pollack (asst. o-line coach, Texans).

We are so on the same page. My wish is that since the niners have decided to retain Singletary they would bring in an experienced football mind, with a track record and coaching network to help Scottie and Singletary. They so need the help.

In another thread someone mentioned Stanford's OL coach as a possibility. Given the job that OL did this year, its an intriguing idea.

Add Greg Roman from Stanford and Mike Solari from the Seahawks.
This is a nightmare . . . seriously.

This just in... "Niners will be retaining the whole offensive line in hopes of instilling continuity"
Are we going to see another messed up draft where our needs aren't addressed, because Sing somehow thinks that the light with some of these players will suddenly just click on? It wouldn't shock me...
