Coach said he needed to "evaluate" Alex against the Lions and Rams. What did we learn about him? Did we really need to play him or could we have put Nate Davis in there? I think we should have put Davis in there.

Personally, I think Alex Smith is average at best and always will be. I wish he had potential to be great, or even good... But I fail to see anything special or even above average. If he is our quarterback of the future, I fear for our future. Hopefully I have to eat crow next season.
