Why was the team seemingly so much better after half time and so flat at the outset of games?
It happened against Detroit this past week, and I know it was the case with Houston and Green Bay as well. What does that say about the team?

They all have different answers.
The Houston game began with Shaun Hill struggling against the Texans.
The Detroit game began with the team knowing that they were out of the playoffs and was not playing for anything anymore (until Singletary lit a fire on their a$$).
I'm not sure about the Green Bay game but I would appreciate someone enlightening us on it.

Probably because Raye actually thinks the line can run block from the onset but when they can't, he busts out the shotgun, and has some success.
Defensively, I cannot explain it. It could be like Sing says, players trying to do too much, thus blowing their assignments.

I prefer it to the old Nolan "resfusetomakehalftimeadjustments" approach, I tell you whut.

Agreed. In fact, I thought it was something that they did particularly well. However, I'd like to see them competing more in the first half instead of waiting for the adjustments to come.

I know it seems that way but they actually have been ahead at halftime in 10 of the 15 games played and tied at halftime in 1 game (2nd Seahawk game). That doesn't necessarily mean they weren't "flat" in the first half and that they could have or should have been up by more at the half, but it probably also means that in the games you mentioned were more dramatic. With Houston, they were down 21-0, Packers 23-3 and the Falcons game was similar in the first half except it never got any better in the 2nd half. The Lions game is more memorable because it just happened, though it that case it was really just the offense that was flat. Not much to complain about with the defense in either half other than they gave up a FG on the first drive.
Just think, if they had won those 10 games where they were ahead at halftime, they would be going to the playoffs.

Terrible coaching installing the plan throughout the week.
We don't have 1, not 1 opening drive TD in all 15 games. That alone should tell you Jimmy Raye cannot scheme until he actually sees how the opposition is playing him. I feel that points directly to the fact that he doesn't want to spend much time breaking down game film which is why he's so determined on wanting to pound the ball running it up the middle. If he can get his team to do that with success, then less work for him.

The plan is to look so lost in the first half so the opponent thinks you are just pathetic and they have the game won. But just when they start thinking that, that's when we make our move and almost come close to winning. It's how Singeltary and his coaching staff are revolutionizing the game. He learned it from his mentor, the genius Mike Nolan.

Yeah because Detroit had the game won in the first half right? They were still down heading into the half..

Because we started out those games playing not to lose. Then at halftime we started to play to win, after we were down most of the time.
