OMG, he made a fair catch? Hope that was on coaches order, he had plenty of room to run.
Just give it to VD for the rest of the game...

Y'all need to chill. That record is completely meaningless.

Thank you! These people sound freakin ridiculous.

It would be nice to see V Davis get the record but it isin't the classy thing to do, passing with this lead this late in game, So understand the reasoning why

lol.

We wouldnt throw to vd, because coaches dont like to be seen running up the score, going for a late game td = running up the score.

when its a record I am sure they wouldnt take it as a Diss

I don't think VD should take it as a Diss to not go for it.

I can't beleive Raye for dissing VD, nd Sing for watching it happen.

there's no way we could be throwing the ball when the game is clearly over and we're up by 15. that would be classless. come on people.

Everyone know VD could set an NFL record whats the difference we ran for the TD come on.

and we did so essentially from the victory formation. They knew we were running every time, that's the way you finish obvious wins. Throwing it would have been completely classless. I give Singletary credit for that.

I see where your at but records don't come lightly in this league for anyone.
Just giving VD motivation to get better and own the record, not back into the record

I can't hate on those play call (I can and will on the play calling for 3 quarters)
but you can't be throwing it around the score being what it is, that disrespectful.
This isn't college
I'd feel a lot worse for VD if it weren't for 3-4 (or more) dropped balls in the endzone over the course of the season.

ALEX SUCKS He has no accuracy deep!

lol, he hits what one pass out of how many deep and he is suddenly accurate? Come on...

Steve DeBerg was much better than Smith. But Walsh was smart enough to say "DeBerg is just good enough to get you beat". So he searched and found Montana and Young. But we will stick with DeBerg, I mean Smith.

Ugh shut up. That was a scoring drive ago. The one that Alex Smith lead. It's useless arguing. Only peyton manning would be sufficient.

You probably thought Steve Deberg was the bomb

Actually, I wasn't alive. So I didn't. Good argument, tho.

IF VD wanted that record he should have held on to more passes this year.

I remember some drops in the endzone and at the goal line this year.

Namely, the one in SEA. But to be fair it hit him in his facemask, so he couldn't see the ball.

you should see the ball BEFORE it hits you in the face.

Damn... Vernon isn't gonna get his record

Good point Chico I forgot in hit his hands THEN his face mask - have to be fair.

And no I don't think they should throw the ball to get Vernon the record - that is just s**te - no belchick actions here.

Sing and Raye probably dont know he was vying for an NFL record.

As much as I would like Duke to get the record he's TIED it. And that's good in my book. Duke had MULTIPLE chances in the End Zone all season long. This record would have been his already if he woud have caught at least one of them.

I'm not mad at all about not going for it here.

It would also not have as much credibility given the current score. No matter how slow the Offense built up to this.

You sir are right. One less drop in the end zone, he would have had a record. And we may have gotten one more win. Oh well.
