looks like antonio gates' 04 year is still better than VD's this year. VD has 1 more yard but gates had 85 catches compared to VD's 76

yeah i have to agree.
this late in the game, Sing is too classy to run up the score via passing. you have to run plays on the ground to run the clock, and if they cant stop it, you score.
but passing is a slap in the face. I personally wanted to see the VD record despite being disrespectful, but it wasnt in the cards this year.
VD will get another crack at it next season. hes clearly good enough to do it again, and he has a long career ahead of him. he dropped alot of balls this year that cost him the record.

As much as I would like Duke to get the record he's TIED it. And that's good in my book. Duke had MULTIPLE chances in the End Zone all season long. This record would have been his already if he woud have caught at least one of them.
I'm not mad at all about not going for it here.
It would also not have as much credibility given the current score. No matter how slow the Offense built up to this.
