Based on my understanding of all of the rules, here are the scenarios where the 49ers will make it into the playoffs:
WIN DIVISON
Scenario 1:
49ers win 3 games, AZ loses 2
Scenario 2:
49ers win 2 games, AZ loses 3
WILD CARD:
6 teams are vying for 2 wild card spots
First, the 49ers must win all of their remaining games.
Green Bay is already assured of having a spot before the 49ers. So that leaves the 49ers hoping for one spot. Since the best record that the 49ers can have is 9-7, and Philly currently has a 9-4 record, Philly only has to win one game to eliminate the 49ers from wild card contention. Even if Philly loses, the 49ers will still be eliminated if Dallas wins 2 or Giants win 3.
SIMPLE ELIMINATION SCENARIOS
DIVISION:
49er loss combined with AZ win
49ers lose 2
AZ wins 2
WILD CARD:
Philadelphia wins 1
Dalls wins 2
Giants win 3
The bottom line is that the 49ers best chance of the playoffs is by beating AZ for the Division title, and that is highly unlikely. The 49ers playoff hopes would have been so much better if they had 1 more win right now.

Basically, the 49ers' only two chances to get in, if we win all of our games, are:
1. Arizona collapses, losing two of their remaining games.
OR
2. The non-division winners of the NFC East only finish at 9-7 or worse, we'd hold the tiebreakers over both of them if we win our remaining games.

no no no this is wrong...
the eagles win the NFC EAST and the Pakers win the first wildcard spot, so we are compiting vs Dallas, Gaints and Atlanta...
we need to win out and then:
Cowgirls to lose 2 games (vs @Saints, vs @redskins or vs Eagles) very reasonable they lose vs Saints and Eagles....
Giants to lose 1 game (vs @redskins, vs Panthers, or vs @Vikings)
any of those games they can lose...
Falcons to lose 1 game (vs @Jets, vs Bills or vs @Bucs)
hope Ryan doesn't play this week and they lose in NY....
we have a better conference record so if we tie at 9-7 with Dallas or NY we win, but we need atlanta to lose at least one more game so they finish 8-8 at best...
I think we are going to the playoffs, but this Sunday is the most important games in 7 years....
go nienrs
PS: we will play Arizona or Philly in the wildcard so this is pretty cool if we win these games...

Someone posted this link in another thread. It's a pretty cool scenario of what would have to happen for us to win a wild card spot. If we win out, the other pieces falling into place don't seem too far fetched. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/playoffscenario?algorithm=custom&14=44144511&15=51000041&16=55141515

All this stuff can happen but its a matter of if we can beat Philly. We beat them and win out we deserve to at least have a chance at playoffs. That Seattle loss is absolutely pathetic... just think of all the close games we lost.

One game at a time. But if we beat Philly on Sunday, I truly think this team will make the playoffs.

How do you plan on winning at Philly? Have you seen how they are capable of playing?
