Brook vs Brown

Much better!

Oh and as far as comparing him to a rook. Why not? This year during the draft, Brown was touted as a player we should pick up and insert into the starting role because Manny wasn't cutting it last year. Brown has not lived up to his rep while Orakpo has. I see it from the point of view of both of these cats as potential pass rushers for us.

Last night, we did see incredible pass rushing from Brooks that did compare to certain moves by LT, Brooks, and the rest of the great pass rushers...what the heck is wrong with that? We can't even enjoy or get excited about some great positives from our pass rushing which we haven't seen all season long, not like that anyways?

C'mon man!!!!!!!

I for one am excited about what I witnessed last night. Brooks made us pay attention.

It is about time someone did as a pass rusher!

Brown also fell to the 2nd while Orakpo went in his expected range (top 15). Just because one rookie is excelling at rushing the passer in his first year does not mean they all will or should (look at the other DL prospects who went top 15 Maybin, English, Ayers, Jerry). Everyone's learning curve is different, thus the comparison is unjust.

This whole thread = fail.

1- To compare Brooks stats with those of a rookie ?

2- To call Brooks better than the rookie ?

3- To call Brooks play from one game "shades of Derrick Brooks and LT" ?

Seriously guys ? Seriously ? Wow. Niner Talk never fails to go overboard whether we win or lose....wonder what would happen if we tied.

Happy we made that trade looks at what we are getting and not getting by making the trade with Carolina I forget who they pick with the 4th rounder. We even use the pick yet so hopefully we can get good value out of it. This is looking better and better everyday and Brooks play one less game.

Take Brooks right now over Everette.

I hope Brooks continues to develop into a totally rounded out LB. I would like to get another pass rusher but if Lawson, Haralson, Brooks continues like they are we could be set regarding our pass rush. Then if Briggs developed we would really be set. It will be an interesting off season.

I still think the Niners need to get a top flight OLB who can be a dominant starter. Haralson and Brooks have both shown flashes of pass rush ability, but neither looks to be a dominant starter. I think that Lawson is good as a starter because of his ability to cover TE/RB's out of the flats.

But ideally, I'd still prefer to have Lawson/??? as starters, with Brooks and Haralson coming in as pass rush specialists. The Giants won a Super Bowl with a dominant pass rush. It hasn't worked out too good this year for them, but I still think the Niners need more consistency from that starting position.

That one sack it looked like someone shot him out of a cannon. His jump was so large I thought he might even draw a flag. The guy looks like a 260lb track star.

Brooks made a tackle behind the line of scrimmage in Minnesota that instantly opened my eyes to him. It was one of the most explosive plays I have ever seen.

This last game opened them some more. You can't teach EXPLOSION. Let's cross our fingers he keeps his head on straight.

And I'd take a top ten pick over both.
I was excited by what we all saw. I really hope he can do it for the rest of the year and help give us some clarity at OLB going into the offseason.
