Well i think it's a cool assessment, but at the same time, i dont think it matters personally. If Alex has just his right hand, and a peg leg, and still gets the ball there, then thats all that matters.
If anything Alex has more touch now on his pass then he has in the past. So i dont think Jaws is taking a shot, but he's going mostly off of 07, which is what Smith haters used to do. Go back to issues of the past.
Regardless of who likes it or not, this is a new Alex Smith, and i hope he only gets better. Dont forget, a lot of people dont like the way Nate Davis throws the ball, and like Warner with the glove on. I say just continue to coach Smith, and let him find his niche.
He does throw a softer shorter ball but he still has accuracy issues on the 10 or less yard throw.

No he's more accurate this year everywhere.

Nah brotha, i say just the opposite. Not saying he hasnt had some hit and misses like every qb, but like someone said last week, it's the first time i heard announcers say about smith, he's in the zone.
And if you watch those passes last week, it was the shorther throws that he got out of his hands almost immediately. And on some even under 3 seconds, so i think while in the past people said its the weakest part of his game. Well he's tweaking his distance throws, and they have tons of touch.
And if this last game is of things to come. Then if our oline can hold up, the skies the limit. But back to the subject at hand, yeah, he's better with every thrown ball now, especially the short passes.

Right. That Monday Night game was when Smith had that third degree separation. I would like to critique Jaw's mechanics under similar circumstances. Isn't that the game where Smith threw a post on the first play (with, mind you, a THIRD DEGREE SEPARATION of his throwing shoulder) and Mr. Reliable Darrell Jackson dropped what looked like would have been a sure touchdown?

The good news here is Alex is finally in the discussion again...I'm seeing steady improvement to the point where his play is above most of his teammates. He had the ball on the money all day in Seattle...a game we should've won by at least 2 TD's.

Those who can't do, teach apparently. Or at least have some sort of opinion about every QB's mechanics in the league
Hilarious that he has so much to say about Alex's mechanics when his QB rating through his first five years averaged 49.62 and Alex averaged a 68.9. Yep, that's right folks, almost 20 point differential. Jaws, you weren't a good QB EVER, why be so opinionated?

Well its kinda his job to give his opinion I just hate how he keeps talking about Alex's straight knee s**t. His stupid ass "MATTY ICE". He just sounds like such a D-Bag
Alex is doing a great job so far. Hopefully he proves the doubters wrong.
