But, you don't understand what you will be faced with in Santa Clara!
Very good chance that there will be No tailgating!! Absolute Gridlock - Guaranteed !! No CalTrain!! (the nearest is 5 miles away) No on-site parking!! Light Rail -- overcrowded and limited to just TWO cars!! Good chance, NO weekday games at all!! Because of parking situation at business locations - not being available during the week at all.
Nothing to do close to the Stadium! Waste land in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do other than get in, watch the game and leave ... except SIT for hours in traffic because owners don't want to pay for any of the necessary improvements!
The best thing that could happen is the Niners stop being the Whiners and stay in SFO and get a new stadium at Hunter's Point! Where there is room to park! Real public transit ... not lies as we're being told. And, people qualified to deal with 65,000 people who've been doing it for years and years. Not a juvenille police force of 200 that can't handle traffic from fireworks! What the Yorks have planned is a real shame ... they don't give a d@$# about the fans ... they just want a new stadium and they don't want to pay for it ... they want the taxpayers of Santa Clara to pay for it and the fans!!
Read the Term Sheet on Santa Clara's website. You'll quickly see the hosing that we all are about to get. And, we'll probably have to pay for a SL again too!! So much for a longterm season ticket holder! And, pay LOTS for parking ... and WALK up to 30 minutes to get to the stadium ... That's when you finally get your car to the area and parked!! Freeway access will be an absolute joke. Have you ever tried to get to Tasman and Great America Parkway from 280!! There are a ton of stop lights already and that's WITHOUT the fans! 237 ... the exits are so lame that will take you awhile too. And, don't try to go down Tasman ... nor Agnews ... those BOTH will be closed on game days!! 880 ... yeah, if you can get there from here!! How do you spell GRIDLOCK!! It will be an absolute nightmare and make the Stick seem like an dream location.
Read up ... and speak out. Don't let the Yorks take you for a ride to SC. They want what's best for THEMSELVES (duh, no surprise there!). It sucks and imagine if you have to share the stadium with the Raiders too!! Which the 49ers have the RIGHT to do!! Isn't the Stick sounding better and better all the time??
Yup. It's funny how they're touting all these wonderful things. But when you REALLY look at it not the face of it, you see it's not that bright and shiny.
But if the City Government didn't try to get something for nothing the Stadium would have been built and completed already. This is going on 13 years since the vote was passed.
It's not the people that didn't want it. They voted in favor of it. But like all things as big there are bound to be design changes. And that's how the local government screwed over the good people of San Francisco.
I don't blame the Yorks for giving San Francisco the proverbial finger.
But not only did they screw the people they screwed the owners with all the delays that cost them MILLIONS of dollars in surveying and all the other costs involved in such a big project. If the City government had been in power when the Gate was first proposed, I doubt it would ever have gotten past the planning and surveying stage.
I'm the LAST person that wants to see the team play anyplace other than the City. But if it keeps them NorCal then I'm okay with it.
Maybe the NEXT time some Socialist punkass tries to get elected people will remember how their politics ran the team out of the City. I doubt it but the 9ers have been good for the area. And regardless of the Yorks, sabotaging the Stadium measure just to get parking structures and other things for free out of the deal is this shy of a Shiester act.
This goes back to Willie Brown king of the California Socialist Shiesters.
