But, you don't understand what you will be faced with in Santa Clara!

Very good chance that there will be No tailgating!! Absolute Gridlock - Guaranteed !! No CalTrain!! (the nearest is 5 miles away) No on-site parking!! Light Rail -- overcrowded and limited to just TWO cars!! Good chance, NO weekday games at all!! Because of parking situation at business locations - not being available during the week at all.

Nothing to do close to the Stadium! Waste land in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do other than get in, watch the game and leave ... except SIT for hours in traffic because owners don't want to pay for any of the necessary improvements!

The best thing that could happen is the Niners stop being the Whiners and stay in SFO and get a new stadium at Hunter's Point! Where there is room to park! Real public transit ... not lies as we're being told. And, people qualified to deal with 65,000 people who've been doing it for years and years. Not a juvenille police force of 200 that can't handle traffic from fireworks! What the Yorks have planned is a real shame ... they don't give a d@$# about the fans ... they just want a new stadium and they don't want to pay for it ... they want the taxpayers of Santa Clara to pay for it and the fans!!

Read the Term Sheet on Santa Clara's website. You'll quickly see the hosing that we all are about to get. And, we'll probably have to pay for a SL again too!! So much for a longterm season ticket holder! And, pay LOTS for parking ... and WALK up to 30 minutes to get to the stadium ... That's when you finally get your car to the area and parked!! Freeway access will be an absolute joke. Have you ever tried to get to Tasman and Great America Parkway from 280!! There are a ton of stop lights already and that's WITHOUT the fans! 237 ... the exits are so lame that will take you awhile too. And, don't try to go down Tasman ... nor Agnews ... those BOTH will be closed on game days!! 880 ... yeah, if you can get there from here!! How do you spell GRIDLOCK!! It will be an absolute nightmare and make the Stick seem like an dream location.

Read up ... and speak out. Don't let the Yorks take you for a ride to SC. They want what's best for THEMSELVES (duh, no surprise there!). It sucks and imagine if you have to share the stadium with the Raiders too!! Which the 49ers have the RIGHT to do!! Isn't the Stick sounding better and better all the time??

I'd take Candlestick over Santa Clara, but I'd take Santa Clara over them moving out of the Bay.

We won't be winning much without a new stadium. If we don't get a new stadium we won't be able to sign big name FA's and I doubt we would be able to keep both Patrick Willis and Vernon Davis. We NEED this stadium to get done next year and start breaking ground on it by early early 2011
Another step closer . . .

Quote:
Supporters of a new San Francisco 49ers football stadium turned in more than 8,000 signatures at Santa Clara City Hall today for a summer vote on whether to allow a $937 million stadium to be built in the city.

The Santa Clara County Registrar's Office has 30 working days to verify that the signatures are of registered Santa Clara voters.

If there are at least 4,640 valid signatures — 10 percent of the city's registered voting population — then the City Council has the choice of whether to put the measure on the ballot during a special election, or wait until the next regular city election in November. If there are 6,970 valid signatures, or 15 percent of the registered voters, then the measure automatically gets put on the June 8 special election ballot, where all that's required is a simple majority to pass.

Im sure you are biased. Traffic going into and esspecially out of Candlestick is brutal, it took me 3 hours to get out after the Cardinals game. Plus lets mention the weather, you got brutal winds at Candlestick and when it rains, boy does the parking lot flood. In Santa Clara 9 times out of 10 u will have perfect 74 degree weather. I'd also be willing to bet you will have plenty of tailgaiting if there is a new stadium in Santa Clara. Everyone I talk to including some 49er fans who have been going to 49ers game for the last 20-30 years, say the new stadium in Santa Clara is a no brainer.

This franchise can't survive playing at Candlestick park for another 5+ years.
