Not at all. He still has 3 games left and needs to make the most of them.

sorry, but it isnt Sing or Jed's job to satisfy the fans, their jobs are putting together the best team and go from there. Not to worry whether there making the right choice by the fans.
Cause really, not many fans, if any have any clue what the f*ck they should do, most wanted Pickett as QB back in the day, and when he did he looked like garbage.
So, no, they havent failed us, and they shouldnt worry about what fans want.

Wow. Okay.. I'm going to quote a comment I read on one of the blogs.
And I 100% agree with this.
I won't call anyone in particular out, but please people. Reserve judgement until after next season.
Quote:
For the Singletary bashers out there, go back and look at Bill Walsh's first two seasons with the 49ers. They were horrible. Where would the Niners have been if had been decreed that Walsh should go after two seasons because he had a combined 8-24 record? Singletary is building a team. Of course, he's made mistakes, he's a rookie coach. You look at us two seasons from now.

He'll be alright and the Niners will be alright. When he talks, people not only listen, but they believe. It's tough because quite a few times I believed his post game promises too, and it's beginning to look like they won't come true, BUT he's still got the team believing in him and he believes in himself. And that will carry over in to the offseason and beyond and our playoff hopes won't be let down next season. Game management might be lacking at times, but with a more talented and experienced team playing hard for him next season, those controversial decisions won't be (or seem to be) deciding factors as much as they might have been this year. Go Niners!

If we don't win out I think he will have failed us. He didn't inherit a bad team like Nolan did, playoffs or bust.

Give me a break. Everyone and their dire need for instant gratification.
IMO, Singletary has done a decent job. Not, by all means, perfect, or even great. But he's shown me a lot more than what I expected.
For a team that had an O-Line that was half-injured, and the other half sucking, then changing QBs and offensive strategies mid season, we've done ok. Enough to say he hasn't failed us. If you look at Washington, another team that changed philosophies during the season (switch at OC), and Buffalo, another team that switched the playcaller early in the season. We are better than both of those teams.

I was disappointed with his decision to come out with mostly a ground attack. It caused us to lead the league in three n'outs for much of the season, and I'm sure we are still pretty high on that list.
He didn't seem to understand that, no matter HOW good your running back is, if you don't establish a threat with your passing game, you are not going to win with your running game.
The Detroit Lions strategy was to hand the ball to Barry Sanders every play (the best running back of all-time). Sanders was likewise criticized for being stopped for a loss too often. But this was not his fault. If the other team is not afraid of your passing game, they will assign 2, even 3 guys to spy your running back.
The Lions were never a good team with this strategy, and they had the greatest back the NFL had ever seen. It didn't work for them, and it wasn't going to work for us.
I still don't think we have established enough with the passing game, teams are still not afraid of it. The Cardinals looked like they were respecting Smith a little more but, I don't know if the Eagles will.
