I thought Crabtree and Harvin were the two best playmakers in this year's draft, and I was hoping the niners would get one of them. I was amazed by Crabtree's hands and YAC, and Harvin impressed me with his quickness, speed and elusiveness. I must admit that I would have picked Crabtree first at the time, but both look like they are going to have great NFL careers.
From what you've seen so far, who would rather have on the niners for the long term, and why? When Crabtree was holding out, I was starting to have buyer's remorse, considering how well Harvin was doing. The guy can find the end-zone, and he's a great kick return man as well (something we don't have).

Harvin is on a better team with a better QB. Crabtree doesn't have that kind of speed.

Harvin has been great, no doubt, but over the long haul I like that the Niners have Crabtree.

Harvin is great talent and i would not mind having him but i'd still take Crabtree 10 out of 10 because he has come in with a great understanding of the game and has played great against top corners in the league while Harvin has done his work against the slot CB.

also crabtree produced right away without training camp, without consistant QBs at the helm, he is in a far worse situation, cannot judge the two right now but i would still take crabs over any other rookie this year.

Harvin is faster and more explosive. I think over time Crabtree will pay off well. He has real good hands and he is pretty strong as well. A different kind of WR.

i love Harvin and Crabtree.
Glad we have Crabs, but wouldnt have minded Harvin at all.
For 2010 draft, i wanna see us target Dexter McCluster from Ole Miss. He reminds me of Harvin so much, tiny, explosive and fast.

Percy has Brett while Michael has Smith...
kinda hard to justify the 2 given that we aren't even a playoff team and they are superbowl contenders...

Both of these guys are serious playmakers, BUT Harvin suffers from migraines and is therefore likely to have a significantly shorter career. He has already missed a game or two this year with migraines.

Agree that thing that will keep Harvin over Crabtree is Harvin's return ability.

I like them both a lot, but think Crabtree will have a better career.

Harvin is injury prone. He was injured often in Florida and was often on the injury report in Minnesota. Physically, Harvin will have a hard time being on the field 16 games a year.

I agree Crabtree is the better longterm value, with Harvins migranes who knows what a concussion or two will do to the length of his career. Percy is the man, but I still like Crabs.
ON a sidenote, this seasons wr class is shaping up to be like TO's wr class.
Harvin , Crabtree, Britt, Maclin, etc. all look good.
