I aint gonna paste everything but if this aint the truth. Speak on it or not!
"Clearly, though, the 49ers lack enough fans who understand and/or care about the other side of the ball, because nobody seems interested in helping them with the real reason they have gone from 3-1 to 4-6"

No big mystery here. Clements is out, Spikes has been hurt and our offense goes three and out at least half of every game. Duh.
It still doesn't excuse Simpletary (stole that from another blogger) and Jimmy "Wildcate" Raye as we've been in every game despite wasting quarters at a time....

Quite often I agree with Ratto, much to the chagrin of a lot of folks on here. In this case, not so much. I think Spikes missing has cost us some, and the same can be said for Clements. However, if you want to look at what has killed us defensively, it's what should be our strength, linebacking. It's TEs and screens that have killed us.
With that said though, having to come on the field too often after 3 and outs doesn't help one bit.

Yeah I read that....and Ratto nailed it with facts....our O hasn't been great but the bigger problem is the D. And I'm tired of hearing "there on the field to long"....because in green bay it was there fault they couldn't get off the field not the O's problem.
Our team was built to be like the Ravens but were simply not that great....we still are a couple of pieces away from that dominate of a defense. 2010 is the year!!!!!!

We still need a bigger playmaker in the secondary, man Eric Berry would be nice. If we can come up with a legit pass rusher and that ball hawking safety we need, our defense will be good to go. Unfortunately we will have to address the offensive line first and foremost.

I think we will need a little help from Free Agency to fill all our holes. In my opinion, draft a premier left tackle and move Staley back to the right as he is good, but a little overrated. There is probably a good chance we will have two picks in the first 15 selections so we can probably pick up that Tweener we need to rush the passer. Finally, we go out and spend big bucks on Sings future son in law...
, who currently plays with the Rams.

I do think we need to improve our passrush, but we do get pressure/hurries at times we just aren't getting the sack, so I dont know you can put it all on the lack of a passrusher.

If we aren't consistently providing pass rush on the QB, the opposing offense will have a field day in our secondary.
And BTW, you know you are a horrible 3-4 team when your DL provides more pressure than your OLBs.

What Ratoo failed to acknowledge in his little blog there is that defenses can wear down as the season progresses. It's no coincidence that our defense has porgressively worsened (week by week) as our offense continues to flounder and lead the league in 3 and outs. You cant expect the defense to hold EVERY TEAM in EVERY WEEK to less than 10 points. Somewhere along the line you gotta expect your offense to take a big lead or knock a team out before it even gets a chance to breathe (kind of like what ATL did to us).
We havent done that; and Sing's philosophy of "not to lose", thus keeping games close and relying HEAVILY on his D to win.............have cost us.
I still blame the Offense more than the Defense. If we could take 2 TD leads in some of these games, Im sure our guys could defend it. But we dont do that......

is he a FA this off season? I would like to see us sign at least 2 players in addition to the 2 first rounders we need 3 more OL and a passrusher a S would be nice but OL and rusher are mandatory.

I got to plead ignorance on this: who is Sing's future son-in-law?
