ANYBODY ELSE FRUSTRATED WITH THIS DEFENSE?

This is the 3rd time this season that the defense has not been able to get off the field at the end of the game (last week was almost a 4th, if Cutler didnt suck). I am ok with the one in Minnesota that was a great drive, but against the Colts and the Packers there was over 5 minutes left in both instances and they allowed the other team run the ball effectively and they played like they didn't know what the other team was trying to do. I can't blame the coaches for this, I will have to put this on the Defensive players for not having that extra push at the end.

Regardless of how the rest of the game went, at the end of all these games it came down to if 49ers defense can stop the other teams offense. Are you going to say at the end we got tired and wore out that's why we couldn't stop them??? If so admit you are tired and get out of the game.

The players I think that will definitely have to be upgraded is Parys Haralson, that's right not Manny, Parys. Manny can at least play linebacker, in the pass and he has been solid at setting the edge on the run. Parys, I watched today dog it on a number of run plays, he can't defend in the passing game, and that makes him a pass rush specialist with 3 sacks with only 6 games left in the season. I would rather see Brooks in there, I think he should start next week and see most of the snaps. (And did u watch the game today, 9ers need Takeo back!!)

nowhere near as frustrating as the offense.

3 and out after 3 and out, i dont care how good your defense is. its gonna break at some point
Yes.

But, I wanna see all spread all the time, Peyton Manning Styleeee

Not really. The D gets no run support at all.
eh its not even close to as bad as the offense. Also losing Nate Clements is a huge blow to the defense. Defense still needs a legyt pass rusher and safety.

not as frustrated i am with people who forget to turn off the caps lock!
The defense came out strong. Our offense only had 5 yards passing the first half. I think the proportion of the weight carries more on the offense.

However, the defense needed to get us a stop on that last possession.

Well in the Vikings game the Defense just gave up the lead and allowed them to drive all the way down the field, but in the other two games, when it was time to really see what the Defense was made of, they failed both times

I don't know about strong? We're talking about the first half of a game where the defense can not blame the offense for being tired and they gave up 362 yards of offense. Our OLB's may be the worst in the game and all the talk about how good Manny is at setting the edge and being great in coverage is total B.S. Manny is rarely used in coverage now (and isn't very good when he is) and against speedy rushers (see Tennessee, GB, etc.) neither OLB can set the edge - these running backs run ALL DAY outside, off tackle on us which then opens up the middle too. We're terrible in coverage of TE's and RB's out of the backfield esp. in the middle of the field (esp. Willis and both safeties). I can't remember when we had the muscle to stop a short run esp. at the goal line (that's a give-me TD every time) and our CB's continue to play 20 yards off WR's and always let them run free off the LOS. In short, our defense is very poor too and will wind up being right where I thought they would be - in the 20's with the same exact problems as last year...and the year before...and the year before...and
i'm not, i feel more bad for them if anything. all these 3 and outs tire them out. especially in the 4th. i am almost sure that they are up there in the league with defensive plays played. if the offense could balance it out all these tired tackling at the end should fade. go niners!

The still had the 3rd overall rush defense in the league before today so I am not going to say that they are the worst OLB in the league. But what can you take advantage of that Parys Haralson does?? All he does good is rush the passer, and if you aren't going hard every down, your pass rush will not be effective anyway.
Very frustrated!

We have practically let it happen 4 times. The Indy and GB games frustrate me the most, because we let the teams run 5+ minutes off the clock. Our D needs to give our O at least a chance to score. Oh, and another game with zero turnovers = sad...
The defense needs to step up period. We focus and blame the offense but it is scoring 20+ points a game. The defense gives up 30+...no way we are winning with that combo.

man did you look at the time of possession ?
it was already 35 min to 19 to GB
The D was exhausted staying way too much on the field cos of an inept offense and record three and outs in the first half ...
we cant convert 3rd downs and we cant stop a team on 3rd down. f**king pathetic display of defense. yeah they were on the field a lot but they had to man up that last drive and know if they dont stop them here the gm is done and boom they dont tackle and walter payton i mean ryan freaking grant of all backs breaks away after being stuffed for like a 40 yd gain. since the start of the gm you knew it was gonna be a looooong day for the defense
