I think the Green Bay game proves one thing...

It show that our offense and plays are predictable and not creative.

Last time I checked, every play is either a run or a pass, and you just listed all combinations of run+pass. Whether the drive ends in a punt is on the players.

Would you prefer Kneel, Spike, Fake spike, Field Goal?

It's a screen if it isn't a run on first down! throw the ball more then 5 yards and on occasion throw the screen to keep teams off balance. Raye got to go i didn't like mike martz but atleast the man like to try and win by throwing the ball down the field!

I am still very very conflicted about this. I think Raye is terrible but to have 8 OCs in 8 years? If that happens it might be the end of Smith's career.

What I vote for is keep Raye to help game plan but have Alex Smith call his own plays most of the time.

Was Smith calling his own plays in the second half??

does anyone know if he called his own plays at Utah?
One of my friends said he thought interception remind him of Brandon Lloyd ducking as the the ball was thrown his way. I thought it looked like a miscommunication between Alex and Vernon. Vernon cut inside, while it appeared like Alex thought he would go outside by the sidelines.

I don't know. If raye was the one calling the spread offense in the second half we don't need to get rid of him. he can call the plays and be fine. Not sure if it is Raye or Singletary that is limiting the offense with the I formation. Smith is not a good QB under center, he needs to be in the shotgun with at least 3 WR's to throw at.

And an OL that lets him throw to those recievers.
What I would like to see is the team use the spread the majority of the time. Let us see what Smith can do in the spread an entire game for the rest of the season. We can still run and run well from the spread. Stop being so stubborn and put your team in a position to win the game!

Watching the Point After it seems like there might be a lot of media pressure for the niners to go to spread, or explain why they refuse to use it when it works!

The problem with the playcalling for me is not necessarily how may runs or passes we call in a row but the fact that the plays that Raye is calling doesn't seem to set up the defense for something else later in the game. It just seams like he is playing Madden with real players and just picking plays out of nowhere and hoping it works. Also, why aren't we using screen passes and bootlegs more?

Whoever is to blame, the are always 1 half too late

I for one want to go down swinging, lose 45-48, instead of these type of games.

Go Spread / shotgun all the time

VD got another TD out of it
Crabs got his first
Gore got a TD

Those guys are our playmakers, right?

The QB is not our problem. We need to rebuild the offensive line. This game shows that if Alex Smith has the time he can make the throws. I think we need to operate more out of the shotgun, that is very apparent. This shows how important continuity is to the effectiveness of an offense.

Exactly. It's not hard to figure out.
