I think in the next couple of years you are gonna see those numbers flip as the running back get delegated to a more committee type position.

Maybe, but if the 49ers win the big one right after another run heavy team won, and it being a copy cat league - there could be a resurgence of the RB position.
Csn Bay Area in a few minutes will go on about VD's hold out and it might be longer then expected

No news, they used his name to get me to watch..the did say Boone is not showing up until he gets a new contract
This troll is trying to post the same damn picture as many times as he can before he gets banned. lol. At least try and come here to discuss some football. Probably not smart enough or knows enough about the game to have a legit conversation though. Probably started watching the Seacocks this past year.
FYI, don't believe anything Mike Florio writes!

Report: Vernon Davis leaning toward holdout

A source with knowledge of the situation tells Profootballtalk's Mike Florio that the "current thinking" is Vernon Davis will not report to training camp.

Davis skipped the 49ers' offseason program, but recently suggested he plans to attend camp later this month. Davis is now expected to be leaning toward holding out, though Florio allows that it could still go either way. The 49ers have refused to negotiate with disgruntled Davis or RG Alex Boone until they report back to the team. Davis can be fined $30,000 per day for missing training camp. Once fines start piling up, players typically cave.

any chance that Florio is right?

My gut reaction is to ignore anything florio says or writes, but it wouldn't surprise me if VD holdsout. I for one do not agree with his stance and it seems like he more than fairly compensated for his production but he has to do what he feels is best for him.

I wouldn't be surprised if he held out for a portion of TC. Florio has no credibility to me, so I don't pay any attention to him. I just think VD has been sending mixed messages the entire off-season. Unless he's truly conflicted about what to do, I'd prefer he quit jerking people around and just be straight forward with everyone. It's 50/50 to me if he shows up Day 1.
If Vernon flip flops again I will lose my patience with him. He said he was coming to mandatory mini-camp. Then didn't. Then he said he will report to TC. Now he is thinking about not showing? Seems that he isn't the one calling the shots.

Its this fantex BS
Some stupid sales person got into his head about marketing himself as a brand and probably convinced him to hold out for a new deal to help jump start the whole stock shares BS.

http://www.columbusceo.com/content/stories/apexchange/2014/07/04/where-dumb-money-goes.html

Athlete IPOs. This year, San Francisco 49ers star tight end Vernon Davis IPO'd. Fantex Brokerage Services agreed to buy a 10 percent cut of all Davis' future earnings for $4 million.

^
That right there is already a bad sign. Worst investment idea I've ever seen.
There are so many reasons this is a not a good investment idea, but let's limit our discussion to three: 1) You have limited ability to pick which companies are going to do well; what makes you think you have any ability to guess what any athlete's future income stream is going to be? 2) Even a minor injury can end an athlete's career. In the NFL, the average career is short — either 3.2 years or almost 6 years. 3) Even if the 29-year-old Davis stays healthy, for investors to make money, he needs a giant new $33 million contract (according to the Fantex risk factors), plus he must "attract and retain endorsements, then generate other brand income post career." Again, the thought of most investors getting this calculation correct is laughable.

This was a terrible investment concept, but it's brilliant marketing for Fantex, which describes itself as "the world's first registered trading platform that lets you invest in tracking stock linked to the value and performance of a professional athlete brand."

I enjoy reading what Vernon posts, he is a very educated and well spoken indiviual. But when you start messing with things a little outside of your league, you end up taking bad advice. Vernon probably thinks he knows whats going on, but I'm betting he has no clue.
Classic example of people thinking they are smarter than they actually are.

Anybody have the cardinals GIF where he ran into the wall? Feeling that might be relevant
