But with him talking so much rubbish recently this had to be re-posted as well. THE WALL ( aka 49ers FO in this case ).

This isn't a zero sum game. We CAN have both. VD is signed, he needs to honor his contract. I was okay with his missing OTAs, but he's in violation of his contract now and will be penalized...it doesn't matter if he's worth more or not. He has a choice...play or retire. He can make noise about being traded or having an updated contract while he honors this one.

He isn't as crucial as you make it seem.

He MIGHT not be this year with the improvement in the WR corps, but he certainly has been in the past. You can't make a lot of the arguments that you personally made last year about Kap if you don't admit how important VD was and maybe still is.

I don't think I ever said he was not important. I'm just refusing to buy into the notion that we can't win a SB without VD. Of course we can!

No team has ever been crippled after losing a damn TE I don't care who it is!

Look at the Chiefs, they let Gonzo walk and didn't really care about it.

We would have seen that example if Jimmy left the Saints
I realize that he is more important than VD, but TE of this caliber are going to affect a team no matter the depth.

They let gonzo walk for different reasons not relevant to this situation

If VD leaves it will be a huge blow to our offense
I'm 99% sure without him we wouldn't have even made the NFC champ game this year, what other TE can make that kind of catch? (im talking about the one that he made in the back of the end zone in Carolina)
People thought that Crabs was Kaeps security blanket... Watch what happens if VD leaves

VD is missing some good teachings from the specialist JH brought in

Which specialist is that?

George Whitfield. VD is going to TE slash QB now.
there are a few guys that were brought in, Whitfield is one of them

Who are they?

Which one is the specialist that would work with Vernon Davis?

buck do not waste your time,, you will never get a answer,,. i have been asking who he would bring in for vernon and all i get is talk about the ghost of bill walsh .. i can not do the little head scratching thing you can do
i read it on here, not just GW came in

wow ,you really don't know about BW

Players come and go, no matter if you have someone great or not replacing them. it's life and it's football

bill would not do a knee jerk reaction and trade a pro bowler just because he wants a new deal. and it also does not justify all these posters who are generating and creating alleged holes in vernons game and proclaiming he is holding out because he is scared we got stevie johnson. please.
no but the BW way is to let guys go 2-3 years early

you would be locked up in a closet is you were around in those days, BW got rid of a lot of people...but with doing that we became one of the most winning-est franchises
please, i have been around longer than dirt so do not lecture me. before the salary cap we never had to get rid of key people, we had a core group and just added to it with good drafting and clever uses of free agents and trades. so you are going to set there with a straight face and tell me that we can dump vernon, plug in vance or whomever and we will not miss a beat. speaking of needing to be locked up in a closet
So why did BW get rid of players ?

why was his motto ..to let players go 2-3 years early ?

no one said anything about salary cap and you must think less of harbaugh and his TE knowledge

That is nice. I know that.

You said Davis would miss the work with the specialist Harbaugh brought in.

So, which of the specialists brought in is going to work with Vernon Davis.

Please tell us which of the specialists you were talking about.

although a player like vernon is a rare one, if he were to be gone it wouldnt spell doom for the team. For multiple reasons am i saying vance can be him no, but vernon isnt the only player that is the reason we are winning. I keep seeing the stats of his posted and all the focus on last years stats but some seem to be forgetting he was the only recieving target for most of the year not named Boldin. Unlike the saints our offense doesnt totally revolve around our te. Unless he is our only on field threat. If we lost him for some dumb reason we still have multiple recieving threats and a great backfield.

Walsh's motto was "let players go 2-3 years early"?

I know that Walsh said that or something similar, but I do not think that was his motto.
f**k Vernon. Hes starting to really bother me. I hope he holds out into the regular season and the team doesnt budge on his ass. Then hes holding his dick on Sundays looking like an ass with no friends watching the Niners on TV while hes taking phone messages about some f**kup employee who just pissed in his customers Davis Special smoothie.

It wasn't a motto, but it was a practice that continued after Walsh left.
I figure he shows up for TC. He will see the way Gore went about it.
