Is this some kind of trick question?
After Sing took over, Martz's offense became much more effective. We scored less points, but we had fewer turnovers. The offense was aggressive and moved the ball well. We had a real passing game for the first time in years--mainly out of 3 and 4 WR sets. But, our running game was stunted. It relied on single back formations, draws and quick running plays.
BUT, Sing wanted a different offense. He chose Raye's. Let's just say the offense we have now is awful. We're in the bottom 6 or 7 teams in the NFL (think Browns, Chiefs, Raiders, Lions--yea, it's that bad). This offense was supposed to fit our personnel more. So much for that. Instead, our passing game is dead and ...the running game is dead. When we have had success passing, it has been out of the 3 and 4 WR formations and we've gotten some success on the ground through single back formations, draws and quick running plays. How is that for irony! The offensive woes are on Singletary. This was his choice.
Let this be a lesson to all coaches out there--don't fire an effective assistant coach unless you have someone better already lined up to take the job.

They are both based on the digit system, but Norv Turner's version might be a better fit than either Raye or Martz...here's to hoping San Diego cans his ass, lol!

It doesnt matter who is OC right now, if our offensive line cant block anyone of the most brilliant OC's out there wont be able to get the offense going.
We can draw up the most creative plays in the league and it wont matter unless our offensive line starts planting some asses in the dirt.
we could bring Holmgrem or Shanahan back and it wont matter unless the offensive line is clicking and on the same page.

Who cares? Martz is gone. Raye is who we have now (unfortunately).
