Without a dominant pass rusher and shut down corner I think he's doing pretty good.

If we get either of these two pieces our defense will be a top 5. Especially if we can get a shutdown corner/safety.

I don't understand DBs lining up with an 8-yard cushion on WRs though...

With Nolan not around to experiment with his hybrid, Manusky has finally had the chance to have his own defense. He'll only get better

Meh, while I don't think we have one of those top flight cornerbacks (Asomugha, Revis, Bailey, etc) we have pretty good ones.
Plus, a good pass rush makes a secondary infinitely better. Besides, our problem in the secondary is safety. Lewis is on his last days and Goldson is average at best.

if you guys have been noticing how our d-lineman sometimes don't get down in their stance & move around? watch he's started it and it will carry across the league. he's done an amazing job with what we have. My father has worked with him on various things. (not going to leak it) but he really wants our db's to play much closer, but he just hasn't had the luxury. he's done a terrific job with what we have to offer. scotty wasn't the one screaming for willis on draft day trust me!

Let me just say this, he has taken advantage of his opportunities to succeed and he is a guy who is going to give you everything that he's got. He just needs to learn how to finish. Going forward he will continue to work his tail off and get better.
I will put it this way, considering that the offense is terrible, the top two corners are out, both of our safeties are sub-par in coverage, Mark Roman is on the field way too often, and we have no real pass-rushing threat, he's done a heck of a job.

He has finally been given the oppurtunity to establish a true 3-4 defense. Nolan never would commit. It's amazing what players can do with a consistant message. I just wish his mid-game adjustments would improve. Initial game plan is good, but the finish has been poor at times.

There are still holes in the D. I think that he is doing a good job. I would like to see more blitzing, however.
P Willy has been blitzing much more frequently. I like it

Give him a dominant pass rusher and a ballhawking safety.
I'd love to see how much better he does then.
