Secondly, this game should reinforce to everyone that our OL just sucks. HORRIBLE is the only word you can use. This line needs a complete overhaul. Go spend big bucks and sign Logan Mankins and use 2 of our first 3 picks on an OT and an OG. I am just sick of watching a line that cant protect and cant run block.
Amen. We need 3 new o-linemen for sure and maybe 4.

Its the OL and Raye...Rachal is an embarrassment, Baas is a fat mess who got demolished by Harris..and personally I think Snyder is our worst lineman. He is absolutely abysmal. Heitmann and Sims didn't do too bad.

Raye is not the problem. He or the HC does not have any confidence in the passing game. People love to blame the o line but when alex does get time he still makes the same old mistakes. So far three different announces have identified the same problems rather quickly about alex.
When Staley returns the o line will improve.

Play calling and OLine. Smith and the receivers had an ok game, but the offense as a whole leaves a lot to be desired.

OL, OC and QB are the biggest problems in that order. If you fix the OL and OC the QB will be better but I still think he needs improvement too. We need to play out the rest of the season with Alex and see what we have. I'm still not sure. I pull for him and hope for the best but I'm not sure. On his side he doesn't have a good O LINE or even an average one.

SD...agree. Like you, I'm not sure about Alex. He has much better weapons now than earlier in his career, but the OL seems to still be problematic. Be that as it may, the ultimate responsibility is Singletary's...he hired Raye as his OC, and so far, it's not working out worth a dang. To put up a measly 10 pts against what has been one of the most porous defenses in the league is just pitiful. The OL can be fixed...if management puts the right emphasis on it. With our two 1st rd picks, we should grab the two best OL on the board. Beyond that, it's the coaching that's also to blame. All of which are reasons I'm advocating to bring in Shanahan...for he's one guy I know will FIX our offense. There's absolutely no reason for our O to struggle so just to be a lousy team like Da Bears. Enough! Time to fix things for good and quit wishin' and hopin'.

Alex inherited the 1st 3 losses once he was named the Starter?
Gimme a break.
So far the Line has not given either QBs' much time to throw the ball. More often than not there is ALWAYS 2 or 3 Defensive personnel in the Backfield. Now if this is the fault of the QB, I missed that memo in team meetings in HS ball. You can blame SOME of this on Alex and Shaun(i.e. holding the ball too long) the Receivers(i.e. Running the incorrect routes) hell you can even sometimes blame it on the lead blocker for not identifying the correct blocking assignment. You MIGHT blame it on the OC, but I can't think of one LOGICAL reason to blame Raye. But this Line is struggling and has been.
I don't blame it on any of the above. I blame it on McCloughan and his deluded opinion that Guards are not valuable. As well as his blatant failure to secure at least ONE solid FA Lineman or at least draft one.

What about giving some credit to the bears #12 ranked defense.
