Are we 1 year away from being competitive? Atleast on offense?

We must keep Raye in order for them to be competitive next year. I don't care how conservative he is, we'll do worse if we get a new OC. They just need more time together in the same offense.

With this same group of players - yes we will be much better next year.

Does anyone have a more holistic analysis to share? Positional upgrades are way overrated on this board, and they're often ineffective.

We have several underperforming OL drafted in the past 4 years. Does anyone have an answer for that? The solution is not to replace them yet, since anyone except a saavy vet would come in here and underperform as well.

Ditto. Raye is adapting to our team and to Alex. Our Oline will also play better next year if we keep our staff in tact.

Disagree. The theory that he is laying the foundations is conjecture at best. His offence is incapable of playing the way he wishes it too. That's just back coaching. You either buy in to the fact you have a system and recruit for it or you evaluate what you have and work to their strengths. Frankly he has achieved neither.

You haven't noticed how the offense has evolved the past few games? We spread out a lot more and even the runs plays he calls are more creative (pitch-outs, direct snaps) and less predictable.

Are you mad?

How long will it really take to fix our O-line, if we draft players its gonna take time to for them to develop, and do when do we give Nate Davis a chance?

And Nate Davis again huh

Really! I almost wish they would throw him in there so we didn't have to hear this anymore. A rookie 5th round draft choice, for God's sake. Oh, but he looked really good in preseason. So did Glenn Coffee. How has he done in the regular season? So did Kory Sheets. He's been great in the regular season, huh? Please just stop with this Nate Davis stuff already. Rookie 5th round draft pick QBs don't tear up the NFL. Nate needs to hold the clip board for a few years. Check back in 3 years. Maybe he'll be ready then.
We are a new OC away + 1 year. What we learned after Hostetler is that Martz changed the line protection scheme and mid way thru last season the OL got it. They are playing much worse now...so a lot of it has to be Raye's protection schemes...either they don't work or the OL still doesn't have it down. Although watching Baas staring at air after being too "top heavy" and allowing his guy to get to Alex untouched..geez...

RT, LG, OC. New OL coach.

And depending on how Alex or Davis plays, a QB.

Don't forget DE and CB. Lawson and Haralson have disappeared and if we cut Clements and Bly leaves will need depth at CB
