You Singletary homers kill me. HE IS THE PROBLEM. Ladies and gentlmen lets face facts. Singletary is like a JV coach going up against Varsity every week. It is EMBARASSING to watch our team look totally unprepared week in and week out. The Cheifs coaching staff Effing SCHOOLED our staff Sunday. Dear lord Walsh must be turning in his grave watching this..

Sounds to me like you just laid out why we do need a new coach. The problem with Sing is he's an extension of the Nolan regime. It's a failed philosophy, end of story. They believe they can win in this league with sub par QB play. Smashmouth football, great defense. Where the f*ck is this smashmouth football we keep hearing about.
You want to look at a team playing smashmouth football look at KC. They bring in Charles, Jones, and McCluster and they find a way to attack you on the ground, and on screens through a variety of means. We have one f*ckin run play that we call over and over again.
It's a failed philosophy and until we stop trying to be Baltimore's ugly step sister we're doomed. Yeah everyone needs a QB but until we bring in a coach who actually thinks we need a great QB to win we're f*cked.

FAIL
I have been opposed to Singletary from the start. I will say this his motivational skills are unparalleled. The rest of his coaching is total s**t!
There have been times when I get suckered in by his motivational skills, but games like last sundays, and results like 0-3 speak for themselves, the shout out loud SINGLETARY IS IN OVER HIS HEAD!

Why you gotta blame Singletary for everything? It's not his fault that he sucks. No one's at fault, let's just give it more time.

I've never been someone who make rash, emotional decisions about players or coaches after a bad loss or two. However after these past 3 games, my view of Singletary has taken a big 180 degree turn, from "I really like Singletary", to "Please bring in Jim Harbaugh next year." Not everything is his fault, and I don't wish him to be fired mid season, but we look so sloppy and unprepared, I don't see how any coach could ever be retained after delivering such empty promises.

Can't agree with you at all on this topic. As long as Singletary is around he'll want to pound our runs right up the gut. As much as we blame Jimmy Raye for poor play calling, the overall direction is coming from Mike Singletary.
Until this team goes out and hires an innovative offensive head coach (hopefully we can retain Manusky), then this team is dead in the water.

Yes, me too. Against Sing from the first I heard of his philosophy, more and more as I see the team play, continually for getting rid of an effective and exciting OC in favor of his smashmouth buddy Raye and so on.
Then I will get sucked in for awhile, appreciating his presence and actually some good organizational skills.
But, he simply is not a good HC. Even the owner finally acted (I am guessing) and officially blamed the coaching and not the players. If the team responds to Johnson, if he is charismatic and successful, then what good is Sing? He will simply be seen as a roadblock to success.

Singletary is indeed a large part of the problem...he's trying to recreate the Bears of '85 and that just won't work in today's NFL. He stubbornly stuck w/Raye when it was clear he wasn't the OC this team needs. I love many things about the man...but I'm not at all convinced he's got the right stuff to be a head coach in this league. Much like Nolan, he seemingly gets out-coached just about every week. Sorry, in this day & age of sophisticated offenses and defenses, that just leaves the Niners "out there". That's not good enough, which is why I'd like to see one of these four replace him: Gruden, Billick, Cowher or Jimmy Johnson. I know Cowher's said he wants to stay onthe East Coast, but if Jed were to make him an offer he couldn't refuse, he just might change his mind. Ditto, JJ, who hasn't given any indication he wants to coach again, but with an opportunity to restore Niner glory he could possibly be convinced.

Give me one reason why he is a good coach as you claim? For some reason, a lot of people gave him a pass as a good coach even though he hasn't proved s*it. We get outcoached every game.

When Singletary took over, the biggest mistake he made was firing Mike Martz. Madden stated the past LB does not have a clue on the offensive side, and having mad mike would have complemented singletary.
