dude, nate is not a scrambler like Alex, he would get killed back there.
I really like the way Nate reads the defense, but he's not ready.
Alex is still showing flashes of competence, if he can sustain that, I will be happy. If the O-line gets better, I'm sure he will.

Neither is Rothlesburger which Davis does remind me off big and strong and gets away from tacklers! Extends the play and makes not only accurate but has the strong arm to stretch the field unlike smith or hill.
Plus We ain't got nothing to lose might as well let him gain the experience and we shall see if we need to draft a QB in 2010.

Yea Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco were thrown to the wolves..
They are suffering terribly. Alex Smith ruined Alex Smith.

There is a BIG difference between their situations: Offensive Line

I wish we had their o-lines and Roddy White. And I'd take ATL's OC over ours any day.
I'll take Baltimore's o-line and their coaches too.
****
I do wish we had Matt Ryan though...damn that'd be nice. Oh well.

There are differences between reasons and excuses. Smith has flat out lost this franchise games. Blame the offensive line for a lot, but you can't blame them for 3 INTs and bad choices. And if you want to continue to blame the offensive line in Smiths case, then by that logic we have has the worst offensive line in Modern American Football. Ever.

He's a rookie from a small school with a severe learning disability. He has natural talent but putting him out there, on a poor team that is playing poorly. You will destroy any potential he has. This isn't madden where you can plug and play athletes, you have to take the human element into account.

I don't care what you think of Hill. He doesn't GIVE THE TEAM THE ****ING GAME!
"oh the one INT wasn't his fault the guy tipped it". Really NT? Are we going to do this again? For every one thing he does well there will be two to three things he does terrible.
This is one of the worst defenses he played today and he gave them 3 INTs.
I think this franchise owes it to the fans to at least give Nate Davis a chance to succeed. Honestly, are you guys gonna ride the Hope Train the next 8 games? This is by far the most talented team we have had in 7 years. A top tier defense, solid running game, and an outstanding Tight End will help any rookie. We got that.
So once Nate has 3 losses who else do you want to put in?

If the season continues to go down the tube we have to give him a shot. We have to know how badly we need a QB this offseason. The last thing we need is to spend 2 1st rounder elsewhere only to find out that we still nowhere close to a real QB.
