Let this guy play, he has amazing potential and if produces could be a big part of our Offensive line next year.
We all know that Sims is not the future, so I say play Boone

So it doesn't matter that he doesn't have the experience or knowledge to start?
This isn't mini camp or pre-season. A blown assignment could mean a season end injury to a Alex Smith or Frank Gore. If the coaching staff doesn't seem to think he's ready, I wouldn't campaign to see it happen.

true, but I just dont think Sims can get the job done plus, this is our chance to see what he's got, just give him one game

I can't believe I am saying this, but Sims deserves his starting role after last week.
It would be nice if Boone had a future, but this is not the time to find out

yeah but the best time to find out about your future is when you starter goes down,
ie: Michael Strahan to Justin Tuck

Justin Tuck was a third round pick who sat behind Strahan for two seasons.
Alex Boone is an undrafted free agent with eight weeks of practice squad experience.
Bad example.

I agree with you bro but I do think he should be put through some intensive work with our OL but just not start.....he nees to be at Snyders side and learn from him since he knows most of the OL positions

Let him develop.Originally posted by redrathman:Originally posted by 49erman5692:

Sims looked good last week, so he starts this week. Boone looks like he might have very good future potential, but he still has a long ways to go, so he doesn't start - maybe next season.

Alex Boone is NOT the immediate answer to all our O-Line problems. People need to stop treating him like the next Messiah. He was an UDFA who has been on our practice squad for the whole season. Bringing him up and playing him in the midst of a playoff hunt is a very bad idea.

I believe we are still trying to WIN games and not put in players that have potential. Sims may not be the future, but he is BETTER than Boone. I want to have a winning season and make the playoffs. Let Boone earn his position in the offseason by beating whomever is in front of him first, instead of letting him learn on the fly and get our guys killed along the way.
Horrible Idea!
