Because probowl CBs are growing on trees right now.

I'm sure Spurlock saw the writing on the wall.

I think I would have rather they made another desperate attempt to sign an aging broken down OT. It probably wouldn't have worked, but I'm waaaaaay more concerned about LT than I am about CB. Kieth Smith over John Runyan? Really?

This makes sense, but I wouldn't expect too much from Keith Smith. He was a backup with the Lions and only had five starts and four interceptions with them in five seasons.

Here are his stats: http://www.nfl.com/players/keithsmith/profile?id=SMI450370

Exactly what I was thinking...
at least something was done with Spurlock
and relax people its not like he will be starting, im sure they brought him in just as insurance just in case another DB goes down

I agree with that too. Seems like McCloughan is more worried about skilled positions than the trenches. I don't care what film they look at when evaluating our O-line right now, its pretty obvious we need a veteran OT.
Backup on the Lions. 'nuff said.

Chill, the dude was brought in to fill the dime cb job, aka 4th cb, not to start. Runyan is old and obviously no one trusts he is healed or would stay healthy, because we aren't the only team w/ OT problems. He's had auditions and physicals but those teams looked elsewhere, so I trust that staying away from Runyan is the right move.
