4 catches for 51 yards today. He wont be here next year; but, I say keep him on the field for the rest of the year so guys like Crabs, Morgan, and Hill can learn from him...

the Bruce Era... he's only been on the team for a year and a f**king half....
I do agree though that he should be either benched or cut to give the younger talent more PT.

I thought it was just me.......The dropped balls are hard to miss (no pun intended), but the lackadaisical effort is inexcusable. He made a half-a$$ grab for a ball thrown behind him and as other posters noted, doesn't go for possible fumbles, block aggressively, or at all or stretch for tough catches. What is Sing thinking? You can't just continued to play the guy because he USED TO BE GOOD! Get Jones and Hill on the field coach!

The pass where Bruce just nonchalantly reached back with one hand for a pass behind him was pathetic effort on bruce's part. His ass deserves to be benched for not only that but for two other dropped passes which became drive killers.

Agreed and he has been dropping balls all year. I think at least one a game.

I'm afraid his tank is running on empty. It's time to get Jason Hill and Brandon Jones in there instead.

His veteran presence has a small amount of value. And his route running, same thing. We have coaches for the benefits that you've listed he brings. Sure, other WR's say that they talk to him for advice and such, but so much of that is pandering to the media.
I too want to see what the younger guys can do. Can they block in 2 TE sets?

Has to be. He's costing us games with his drops that kill drives. Outside of route running he doesn't really do anything, and that only really helps you out if once he gets the ball he can hold onto it. He doesn't stretch the field, he doesn't block well, and his hands have turned to stone. I like the guy but I think he's pretty much done.
Agree. I like Bruce, but he needs a reduced role on this team.

When you have a guy like Crabtree preform better in two games than a seasoned vet all season, you know the vet quality and experience isn't an asset anymore.

You think that might have something to do with the guy that was throwing him the ball through the first 5 and a half games?
He may be losing a step but until the younger guys supplant him he deserves to be on the field. I felt the same way when Rice neared the end of his career with us. There is no accounting for a solid Vet when you've pulled him. So make the young pups step up. Then see what you got.
