He's just trying to do whatever it takes to keep his job on TV. More power to him, and I love the homerism, but I think he's just saying the "safe" stuff to be kept on ESPN

Exactly. Safe would be saying Alex is a bust and the Cardinals will win the division. There is nothing safe about his statement.

Sssshhhh.......Don't use the words "Alex" and "bust" together in the same sentence or the Alex Smith lynch mob will come get you. Unless you're talking about Canton can you use those 2 words in Niner talk.

By safe I meant, safe in a sense where he's saying what the fans want to hear. If he's going to antagonize someone, or let it be known that he doesn't believe in someone's talent, then he has to back it up with A LOT more info and analysis - Something that he isn't prepared/qualified (at least not yet) to do, thus taking the "safe" approach.
If he says exactly what you have said, and doesn't provide any inside info or analysis, then he'll just look like a plain HATER and that won't keep his job safe.

Nice to see him not swinging from the Patriots nutsack for a change.
Teddy- "well when I was with the Patriots".......
Commentator- "ok and what about his arm strength"?
Teddy- "when I was with the patriots"........
Commentator- "can this team make the playoffs"?
Teddy- " you know, when I was with the patriots".......
It gets old, hey teddy, f**k the patriots. LOL

True, and we've never lost a Super Bowl. If we go, we make sure we have the team to win.
Sucks to get caught cheating.
Amazing. Everytime someone (in life) or a team (in sports) goes on a very good streak, someone who doesn't understand hard work, long hours and focused drive blame them for cheating. It has nothing to do with the hours, creativity, or drive that goes into it.
It's more of a "I sat back on the sidelines, while these people pushed hard to get where there at; and I think they had an unfair advantage". Right, the fact that they put in all that hard work has nothing to do with the fact that a "couch potatoe didn't get the same results".
That's amazing.

uh no. by saying that it wouldn't be safe b/c hes only really preaching to one fan base rather than the rest of the nfl.
you fail.

Better to preach one fan base than to bash it on TV without backed up knowledge and/or analysis. You really think that if he said completely opposite of what he said, and didn't provide any additional info, that viewers would take him seriously? Bruschi was an excellent LB, but I doubt he has stellar info about great QB play (again, at least not yet).
Trust me, I used to work in TV Broadcasting.

Oh yeah! Go Tedy Bruschi! I like him for the most part on ESPN except when he talks about the pats, than it's MC Homer time. I hope he's right thought.

In all fairness, they got caught cheating, it's not like someone just made it up.
