The 49ers confirmed that they have given cornerback Tarell Brown -- the team's No. 4 cornerback this year -- a three-year extension. Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, the deal is for three years and $7.125 million contract. The deal includes a $2.5 million signing bonus, and it will pay Brown $800,000 in 2011, $850,000 in 2012, and $925,000 in 2013. That means Brown is signed through 2013. The team's other CBs and their contract statuses (stati?)

Dre Bly - signed through 2009
Nate Clements - signed through 2013
Walt Harris - signed through 2009
Marcus Hudson - signed through 2009
Shawntae Spencer -- signed through 2012

2.5mill signing bonus...that's quite a bit...guess Singletary saw something in him. I just hope this is not a decision made solely by Scott Mc.

Why re-sign him to a multi-year deal? Has he proven his worth?

The staff thinks he's worth keeping, especially with Harris probably gone next year, maybe Bly too. They've done a good job of extending guys early.
I guess that's good news and I'm encoured that the 9ers have seen enough in him to lock him up for an extra three years, but I can't really say that I've seen him play very much. I hope it all works out for the best.

He'll replace Bly. Expect Hudson to resign and a 5th round draft pick add depth at the position.

Exactly. He hardly plays at all. This is a

Considering when he has played he's looked pretty good like last year, not sure about this year(haven't seen much of him)

They probably wanted to lock him up based the potential he showed in limited play.

Nate will not be cut... but I could see him becoming a safety.
