Pashos to IR; Harris Waived; Briggs brought up

Im happy to hear we brought up Briggs and cut Marques Harris. Harris was pretty much worthless and always hurt. I think Briggs can be an effective pass rush specialist and maybe even down the road, a starter in this league.
That would be great if he could do that someday down the line.
Why Diryal Briggs?

Passhing rushing OLB who was a dominant pass rusher at Bowling Green and had a great TC and pre-season with the 49ers this year and now gets a chance to make plays when it matters. I know it was just pre-season and he was facing 2nd and 3rd string guys, but he just seems to have a knack for getting to the quarterback (and stripping the ball) and I like his explosivness of the ball and has a non stop motor.
the briggs decision is interesting. we've had a lot of trouble generating a passrush lately and the coaches it seems are trying to shake things up a little to fix that. i hope it works.

too bad for pashos. hopefully he'll make a full recovery, but its not that big of a loss for us.

Not a big loss for us? how so? I think its a pretty big loss for us. while Pashos wasn't dominating and was pretty much equal to what snyder was doing, he gave us the flexibility to bump Snyder to guard and get Chilo off the feel. Now is Wragge gonna switch off with Chilo or is chilo playing full time again because Snyder is gonna be starting at RT?

Like I said in another post earlier this week, If we weren't carrying 7 WR and carried 5 we would have 2 extra roster spots for 2 extra OL or a OL and a TE.

This sucks.Scotty needs to look for a ol since they are easy to find.

i agree with you that we should be carrying more OL and fewer WRs. I just didn't think Pashos was a big upgrade over Snyder and only marginally better, if at all, than Sims (Sims has actually been fine when in there this year; that is, we haven't noticed him as much as in the past). I think a line of Staley-Baas-Heitman-Snyder-Sims is just as good as having Pashos in at RT. The weakest link right now is Rachal. He needs to be straight up benched and not in this rotation silliness.

I agree with you . the rotation is stupid and Sims hasn't been noticed much ( yet). I would much rather see Wragge in at Guard and snyder at RT than have Sims in the re though.
Losing Pashos really sucks...he could've helped solidify the right side. Well, one thing, this should get Wragge into the mix. Don't understand why he hasn't been used yet. He can play RG...I hope Singletary realizes Rachal is just too much of a liability vs Colts.

I like the Harris waiver and Briggs promotion...you know Manusky had to be disappointed in Harris, since he coached him in SD. Briggs has got some talent...so I'm happy he's getting his shot.

Because Harralson needs to feel the pressure of some competition. Dude has been invisible the last few games. Brooks looks decent in the few plays hes got in for too.

Yeah, Coach keeps saying he wants to get Brooks more PT...here's a great opportunity to get some heat on Peyton. He and Briggs could be a real pass rush shot in the arm.
Good. Now maybe we can get some goddamn continuity on this O-line.

and why isn"t Wragge in? he stepped in for Larry Allen and our running game didnt skip a beat?

Easy there. I wouldn't be surprised if Briggs is on the inactive list on Sunday.

With more WRs potentially on the active roster, and the possible return of Lewis at safety, they are too few spots to use on a 3rd string OLB.

Briggs could be inactive...but at least he's on the 53-man roster now. I'd hope they get Brooks a lot more snaps...I think he can be a real disrupter if he gets the PT. Any word on Spikes? If he can walk, you know he'll try to be out there.
