Peter King: "HAHAHAHA!!! I'm a fat East-Coast biased dumb-tard who droooools over the Cowboy's nuts!"

Kanye : "Yo JR, I’m really happy for you…I'mma let you finish. But Michael Irvin had one of the best NFL careers of all time! On one of the best teams of all time!"

Jerry Rice: "GTFO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Singletary: "Jerry, you wan' me TO DROP THESE FOOOLZ?!?!?!"
Hutson would likely have a hard time even making a roster in today's game.

You know the sad thing is that when Jerry has his name on the ballot for the hall of fame. I can sure everyone will put him on as a first ballot and now we know the only douche that would not vote for him.

This is why (like the NBA MVP and the college football polls) the media needs to have zero say in determining accolades for athletic accomplishments.

Outside of that, who cares what Peter King thinks?

Not even close.
Peter King is like every other talentless hack who just says stupid s**t so people will pay attention to him.

What a lame ass.

That statement pretty much cemented Peter Queen as the biggest idiot in sports journalism. I don't have any need to listen to that fool anymore.

It is true that Rice was the most prolific receiver ever, but Hutson's accomplishments make him a worthy competitor to Rice for the "All-time greatest WR" title in the same way a Sammy Baugh or Otto Graham can be proposed as the greatest all-time QB.

Their stats stand up in any era, but they were accomplished under different rules and at a time when more run-oriented systems/philosophies were employed.

Read up on Hutson and you will be impressed. The guy was an amazing talent. You may even change your tune.

Don Hutson was his generations Jerry Rice. This is why I don't like comparing players from different generations. It isn't fair as the game has changed dramatically over the years. Jerry was the greatest WR, or player, when he played.

Agreed. There are grounds for the argument, I just don't agree with the logic. Given what Hutson did in that era is amazing - but again, I think Jerry can play in any era and Hutson would struggle in this era given the speed and athleticism of today's athlete.
lol @ homers in here...

One man's opinion differ from yours and automatically, he's a moron...

damn....

*NOTE: This is not to say I agree with P. King but seriously, the man has a good argument*

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion including Peter King. However, you could make the argument that Jerry is not the the "Greatest WR in History" but the greatest Professional Football player EVER...

With this said, I will be in Canton next August cheering and thanking on one of my top 2 favorite Niners ever. Jerry Rice.

Off topic a little bit if any webzoners are interested in going to Canton PM me I have a travel agent who got me my package for next years Hall of Fame ceremonies.

Human physiology hasn't changed in the last 75 years. The difference is the improved sciences of physical training and nutrition.

If Hutson played today he would have the same immense talent to go along with modern training and nutritional regimens.

The competition level would even out some because everybody has to work towards peak performance to stay in the league, but I think he would still be one of the greats.
