Peter King also said there is no way Alex will be replaced by Kap, anybody (meaning Harbaugh) would replace Alex Smith has not watched him play the last couple of years, blah blah blah...

King is on a roll. He must get some things right... I just don't know what or when he was ever right about anything.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but what Jerry has done is staggering.

Owns the majority of significant career receiving records and has a good amount of the single-season ones, or is Top 3 in the majority of them. In particular, his career records are by far ahead of everyone else. He played the receiver position at a high-level for a very long time... In addition, he did all of this when the NFL wasn't so restrictive on pass defenders. Opposing cornerbacks could get away with mugging receivers.
Was a big-time performer in big games, playoffs, and Super Bowls.
League, Super Bowl MVP, consistent Pro Bowler.
Largely successful with four different quarterbacks (Montana, Young, Garcia, Gannon).
As a player, could do it all: superlative route runner, physical, could run after the catch, could fight for the deep ball, excellent blocker, could run reverses, great hands, good over the middle... he did it all at a very high level.
Incredible work ethic.
Incredible longevity.

It's crazy, because so many people consider him to be the greatest player to ever play in the NFL. For someone to not even think he's the greatest player at his position is mind-boggling.
