It's time to back up your opinion or as some would think, "Facts".
As I have stated before, I expect Hill to do fine this year....put up some real good numbers and continue where he left off last year.
if we are predictable on offense then yes, imo Hill and the offense will struggle...as would any QB.
ex. run run Pass.....if we consistently set our self's up with 3rd and longs after running it 2 times.
but I feel Raye will do a good job with our offensive personal.....with Vernon, Gore, Bruce, Morgan, Jason Hill all making plays....thankx to Shaun playing like he has in the past...spreading the ball around, finding the open man....and just moving the chains.
So basically I expect Hill to be the starter all season...unless he gets injured.*knocks on wood*
so what do you feel will happen this year......let this thread be the one where we can all come back to during the season.....state which option you voted for and why. If you feel I should add more options to choose from, let me know.

I think he will be an average QB as he has been since he's been here. Nothing special. Running game and defense will win us 5-7 games. Just like it did last year when Hill got credit for a 5-3 record.
Next offseason we will go after a REAL starting QB. Either via free agency or the draft.
I personally say, claim Brohm off the Packers practice squad. Dump Hill and Smith. Let Davis and Brohm show what they can do. Or can't do.
This is a lost year for us anyway. We know Hill's not the long term answer. Let's see if we can find a glimpse of hope elsewhere before we invest a lot of money next year.

Persdonally I think Hill might fall on his face. He didn't get enough reps in pre-season and he looked out of sync. I know he played well last season but I also believe the team played with high emotion because of the Nolan firing and Singletary coming in.
I think with teams looking closer at hill I think they will scheme that short pass away from us and stack the box with 7-8 defenders. I pray that we can win some of the battles in the trenches. I know we can run block but pass blocking hasn't been out forte.

I remember all 4 QBs stating how much their games have improved with the addition of the new QB coach. Hill will surprise and perform much better than expected.

Oh yes, this just make perfect sense. Let's sign an outcast that doesn't know our offense, and then we'll back him up with a rookie. Your right, in this scenario it would be a lost year.

imo, I think he just has zero confidence in Shaun and that we are wasting valuable time with him back there..........and just wants to throw anything QB back there that has precieved potential and see what happens...
I know the feeling... I felt this way when Alex was our QB a couple of years back... I felt that we had talent on offense and that Alex was holding us back....and didn't care which QB was back...as long as it wasn't Alex or Ken Dorsey.
I'm looking forward to the season....I think Hill will make some more believers. imo, I mean we don't really neeeed to have/search for a QB of the future...if Hill can play like how Rich Gannon played for the Raiders awhile back, I would be VERY satisfied.....and I think he can...they seem to play very similar.

it's a lost year anyway dude. We ain't going to win the division. We ain't making it to the playoffs. Thus a lost year.
Also FWIW i was thinking starting Davis and Brohm backing up. Either way it will be painful I know. But might as well see if we can find a gem as opposed to just trotting Mr. career 3rd string until I came to San Fran out there and being almost as painful.

the "fact" is that shaun hill is 7-3 as a starter lifetime. He has never started the year or played a whole year. I hope he continues to win so we can get a playoff birth, but I just see the tide beginning to turn in favor of Nate Davis.

I think Hill will do a fine job, but nothing spectacular. With this current offense I'd give a prediction of 3,200 yards (22 touchdowns, 16 interceptions).

but there wouldn't have been a whole offseason QB battle if it was a legit 7-3. Also it was said booth QB's was dead even in the battle and Hill gets the nod due to his 7-3 record.
But if he couldn't separate from Alex Smith. Is he really worthy of starting? answer no. We just have no other options.

Not sure how much credence we should put in all that talk. Hill had four years of solid coaching in Minnesota before he came here. He is a bit unorthodox but not without fundamentals.
The guys who will show the most improvement under Mike Johnson will be Smith and Davis. Smith, in the little time we saw him, was fundamentally better than at any time in the past. Davis is still very much a project with little to compare.
