Like he did in the first half for the INT?
it was 4th down....you are letting your blindness affect your posting....
4th down...season on the line.... I didn't expect him to complete it but EVERYONE KNOWS YOU THROW THE BALL UP, you do not take a sack...even if you are getting tackled you throw the ball somewhere...
that play just shows that he let those INTs affect his play at the end of the game....he was too worried about turning the ball over that he even took a sack instead of getting rid of the ball on 4th down....we are down by 14pts... you LET GO OF THE F'n BALL....
seriously.... he should have got rid of the ball as soon as he hit is last drop, but he didn't....I know someone was coming at him...but he was not getting hit on that last step...that is when you throw the ball.
He basically got hit after less than a second and you think he should have been able to throw it?
again, you are letting your bias affect your posting....watch the play again, it was not less than a second....
again...he dropped back and at that last step had an opportunity to throw the ball...but he tried to evade the oncoming rusher....he should have threw it on that last step....while the rush was getting ready to hit him...
I agree with Afrikan... You throw the ball up.
IMO this is a inexperience issue.
I'll take a look again. I'll have to look when NFL channel airs it.

Ditto... err make that Tritto.
4th down you may not have another possession unless you score and onsides? You throw it up and hope it sticks to the the Receiver.
I blame the staff for that one. Bad play call.

CONGRATULATIONS 49ERS AND ALEX SMITH ON ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL SEASON !
THERE'S ALWAYS NEXT YEAR !
True, i just hope maybe we can get rid of all the individual player haters, and our fans can support whomever is under center next season.
Yup, Just like you did with Shaun Hill, right?
Actually yeah, as a matter of fact. Go back and look in past threads. i am a smith supporter, but said from TC on, whomever wins thats whom im supportin.
And you know whats sad, is that most Smith supporters backed Hill when he was in, whether we liked him or not.
And as soon as Smith got in, the Smith haters came back full swing. He does good, their silent, or say few words. First mistake, where's Nate Davis, and bench him.
Anything else D?
Look, I supported Hill when he was our starter and you did nothing but bash him and state how Smith would do better; but, you were right to. I've supported Smith since he's started proving himself; but, still have to listen to whiners blowing any little comment about Smith out of proportion and labeling people Haters... Stop looking for the hate and enjoy the game...
Oh, and people will continue to question the QB until someone proves to be the QB of the future (whether Smith or Davis develop or we bring in someone new).
Now D, I got nuthin but love for ya bruh. But the difference between you and the people that are haters is that you didn't(to my immediate knowledge anyway) start dumping on a guy DURING a game. Every right to question but when it can't wait to the end of the game I myself have a hard time not verbally pelting someone with the haterade bottle.
I do not know what Alex does that inspire such hostility but dang yo it's gotta come after the game. In any case the team was outplayed with a bunch of dirty tricks. The cut blocks BELOW the knees? The block below the waist? Zebras actually going out of their way to call 9ers on some SERIOUSLY questionable calls and their refusal to call the SAME penalties(when they WERE committed) on the Igglets basically suggests the 9ers weren't going to win the ball game. I mean hell TWO penalties into the 4th quarter???
What's that adage again? You can call a penalty on just about EVERY down? So if ya can WTF haven't the Igglets taken many calls ALL SEASON long? Cause we got hit with some SERIOUSLY blatant crap today.
~Ceadder
Oh Ceadder, don't get me wrong. There are definite haters on here and some folks that bash Smith just to get some posters all riled up... I just see a few posters that are way too quick to pull out the hater card.

Look... Whether you put like it or not, ALEX SMITH WILL BE OUR STARTING QB IN 2010! Alex was not the sole reason we lost today. What about the ball getting stripped from TE Delanie Walker? Or our poor special teams play? (Bad field position) Or the fact that our offensive line couldn't pass protect for s**t!
If you think this loss was solely on the QB, then you didn't pay attention to the game.

I also say what make a Hater exactly.
A hater to me isnt a person that dislikes a play, a series of plays, mistakes made by those on the team, etc.
A hater is a person that speaks negatively about a person, whether they do good or not, whether they like the person or not. Someone that speaks negativity 24-7, or say nothing on a good day, and pounce like a lion as soon as the first mistake hits.
These are the HATERS, that i have a problem with. Be upset with a playcall, like i said, bad series, or number of series, but when u just make it about one player, and start speaking negative before the game, during the game, and even more after the game, then thats wrong IMHO.

exactly
some people probably go into the game looking to find fault with the team and certain players just so they can say "i told you so."

niners r just a bunch of heartless jokes
Get out.
Just get out.
What fan actually wants their team to Lose games to bump their draft position? Especially in a draft where they have TWO first rounders? Are there a whole lot of Blue Chip prospects in the draft that I'm not aware of? Oh wait a minnut, NOBODY has declared yet.
Oh and NEWSFLASH, the League don't exactly like us right now. So tanking games gets people into HUGE trouble. It's called POINT SHAVING and it's a HUGE
.
It may benefit you York haters with your conspiracy theories because it gets the franchis yanked from you. Point shaving in a Football game? "Now that's just un-American".
Oh and to answer my question? Only 9er fans would wish for their team to tank the remaining games in a losing season. Hell we suck , so who will know anyway. We wanted Reggie Bush but damn Nolan's uncooperative Coaching style.

I still hold onto hope that we bring in a quality vet; but, I wouldn't be too upset if Alex is the starter as long as were continuing to develop the position... I don't know much about Davis, except for what I saw in the preseason. He looks like he has the tools, but needs to learn the O (and I hear he has a learning disability so I don't know how well he'll do). If Davis proves to be a quality backup and can push Alex then I say we pick up another low round QB that we can also develop.
As for the loss, We played a better team today and gave it our best Shot. This was less of a loss for us as it was a win for Philly IMO (I mean we were expected to lose)...
