I think that what we need to do is come up with a way to properly and respectively honor coach Nolan. Now, Nolan was before my time on here, but I suspect that there are more former Nolan fans around here than just the 1 poster that I know of. Nolan is the reason for our season. He brought Sing here, gave birth to Scot and guided him from head scout to "trigger man", brought just about all of our players in here, and almost, without a doubt, in my humble and normally highly accurate opinion, counseled and mentored a young and impressionable Jed. Nolan was the organization. He is still the organization in may ways. So I say, if you supported coach Nolan, or if you support coach Sing right now, or if you think Scot has some usefulness to this organization, you have an obligation to say thank you to coach Nolan. Do not disrespect him, do not make fun of him, instead, acknowledge what he has done for you. It's the least that should be done.

Nolan is a big reason why we have some of the players that we do. He is also a big reason why we have failed so far as well.
Quite a lot of people here thought (including me) that he was a decent GM but subpar coach.
Either way, he has left a big influence on the organization.

Although you omitted the admission that you were once fiercely loyal to Nolan as a coach, I do appreciate you acknowledging Nolan's influence on both this organization and its fans. It is somewhat refreshing to finally have a fan say, "Hey, he was kinda my guy."

I would like to take this opportunity to remind the Zone what a pile of s**t Terry Donahue left for him. We didn't have an NFL roster and 1 or 2 drafts, a hand full of FA and all the coaching in the world wasn't going to hide the fact that we didn't have 22 starting NFL caliber players until late last year. fortunately for us, most are returning this year.
Honestly, I think Norv Turner is more responsible for stunting our growth than Nolan. We were moving forward, taking baby steps and about to build on the previous year and then he pulled the rug out from under us. That set us back so far and we werent strong enough to absord the blow and rebound.
Terry Donahue and Norv Turner- ass holes

What channel is the Friday night preseason game going to be on? On 49ers.com it says the nfl network, but isn't it going to be on regular cable as well? It always is. I'm trying to DVR it, but can't find it. Any help?
