I translated the article postied in spanish from the 49ers site
The power took to Brandon Jones scarcely a pair of days in the free agency to sign a contract of five years with 49ers, at the end of February.
After spending four periods with the Tennessee Titans (2005-2008), the rapid recipient of 6-1, and 212 pounds sterling he was looking for an exemption in which being able to settle as a recipient of high level in the NFL.
Without doubting, Jones came to the Area of the Bay, turning into the last versatile addition to the jigsaw puzzle of 49ers into the position of open recipient.
" Simply I feel that this is the place for me ", said Jones in a recent interview for TV49. " One has given me the opportunity to come to help to do here moves. It is simply one of these things that you know that it is correct for you ".
Jones joins a group of recipients that return after having retained the veteran Isaac Bruce (who considered the retirement in preperiod) and adding Michael Crabtree with the selection global number 10 in the draft of this period.
With an it improved depth in the group of its position, Jones does not have doubts upon challenging to the other open receivers of the 49ers by obtaining a regular position this campaign. "I face each day of the same form, leaving to compete hardly and giving everything that I have", Jones said. "We have to many good players there that can play this sport. Is going to be a battle during all the camp". In four seasons, Jones has received 112 pass for 1.380 yards and nine annotations. Its better season occurred last year, where finalized with 41 receptions for 449 yards and an annotation. Seeking to improve those numbers, Jones says that will be aligned in any position of receiver with the idea of helping its new team to be successful. During the minicampamentos of pre-season and the activities organized of the team, Jones aligned in the positions "X, Z and F", being the position slot (F) that of its preference. "I expect to be able to continue in the position slot", declared. "I like to go outside, but I love to be in the slot. I think that I bring a lot at the table being in that position. That is one of my strong points upon coming here". It do not they matter where be aligned in the country, Jones plans to utilize its vertical velocity to cause played large in the air play of the 49ers. After its first pre-season in the area of the Bay, Jones has a firm idea of the ethics of work expected by the coach in chief Mike Singletary to be able to have that type of success in the country". "We leave there and we work hardly. This it is one of the most industrious teams and is shown in the country of prácitcas", Jones said. Besides having the correct attitude, the atleticismo of Jones will help the recently come to cause an impact in the future season. In the it Combined of search Engines of the NFL in 2005, Jones ran the 40 yards in 4,38 seconds. Months after that impressive time, Jones suffered a wound of ligaments before the 49ers November 27. It was all a backward movement for the novice who had initiated in eight of the first ten play that season. But after rehabilitating its right knee, Jones played all the 16 parties of the following season, starting in 10 of them as the holder. With the wound in the past, Jones expects to use its recovered force of the low body when refer to trap pass for the 49ers this season. "You are going to have the opportunity to leave there to cause played. Many balls are going to be in the air", Jones on its role in the offensive of the 49ers said. "It will not be alone a team to push, to push, to push. You are going to have an opportunity each day because we are going to launch the ball of quite frequent form". Specifically, Jones is considered to itself as a "type to the deep thing of the field, of possession, to move the chains". "I love the emotion of a third one and nine or a third one and 10", added Jones. "I like to be able to come out with mine and to silence to the defense. I like to be the man to which to go when a large move be needed". After passing most of his career trapping pass from the quarterbacks as Vince Young and Kerry Collins of the Titans, Jones is expecting news on which of the pins of the 49ers will be named holder for the 2009. The difference between Shaun Hill and Alex Smith he has not been a lot of problem for Jones and the remainder of the receivers. "Do not you note it", Jones on the competence of pre-season of the 49ers in the position said of quarterback. "They are quarterbacks similar. Both are magnificent and both leave there to work hardly. When it is a battle as that, do not you know who is in the country. You should be capable of working with both". But Jones could have been in a position in which never would receive balls in the NFL. When was 18 years old, Jones was a talented player of baseball besides being a successful player of football school. Jones went him sufficient talented for to be selected by the New York Yankees in the round 28 of the Draft Amateur of the Major League Baseball in 2001. But instead of being sheathed in the famous striped uniform, Jones was directed to the University of Oklahoma as an athlete dual. "It was not a difficult decision because always I knew that wanted to go to the school to play both sports. "My mom told me that had not been working that time so to expect was the best. It was ready to have an experience college student, to put me in the books and to be capable of play football and baseball because I love both sports". But the love of Jones toward the baseball has not diminished completely. Still it is presented with the Bronx Bombers and typically him can be seen for the installations of the team using a cap of the Yankees. "I think that still I can play", said with grace. "I think that if you give me a month of training, would be able to leave to the diamond and to be in the Large Leagues". Besides continuing to the Yankees, Jones says that sees many movies in its free time. "All those movies 3-D, I have seen each one of them", revealed Jones. "Each Tuesday I am in Best Buy buying new movies and new music". Now that has been far from the installations of the team by almost a month, Jones is maintained busy in its hometown, in Texarkana, Texas, passing time with its mom and its smaller brother. Jones will be able to have many friends and family with which to be met, but he understands that the last weeks before the training camp he is when the mental preparation of the football seizes one. "The training camp is something that expect with anxiety because signifies that the season is to the return of the corner", said. "The training camp is the hardest thing by the one that a player of football passes. When those play begin to arrive, begins the diversion".

Jones is really showing something so far and it makes the signing of Crabtree far less urgent. I would not be unhappy if by the time Crabs signs, he's relegated to playing behind the starters all year as long as they produce. Would serve him right. Now let's hope Jones isn't just a practice standout and disappears in games like another B.J (Brandon Jacobs). By the way, what's with all the B.J. initials? Brandon Jones, Brandon Jacobs, Bryant Johnson......Am I leaving anyone out?
which brandon jacobs are you talking aobut?
lol, he's probably referring to Taylor Jacobs - former TC star.

Jones stepping up in TC is exactly what we needed. Crabtree wasn't gonna make a huge impact this year anyways. This allows Crabtree to sit back and learn the offense since it doesn't look like he will be signed anytime soon. We can develope Crabtree slowly and not force him to learn any bad habits by sending him into games unprepared.

I never did understand why so many people hated the signing. This guy just needs to be thrown the ball.
I don't think anyone hated the signing. People were just sick of us making a half *ss attempt to upgrade a sh*tty receiving core every year. We haven't had a 1,000 yard receiver since TO left, and adding Brandon Jones really wasn't go to make anyone feel optimistic about changing that.
Signing Brandon Jones and relying on him are two different things. Keep in mind Isaac Bruce was on the verge of retirement and it didn't look like we were going to draft a receiver til the mid rounds. Forgive me for not embracing the thought of Morgan, Jones, and Hill as our receiving core.
To me there was really no better value out there this offseason for a receiver . It was pretty clear that the 49ers needed to add a solid young receiver when they signed him so the complaining about his signing was really just a bunch of armchair GMs whining about the only offensive move the niners had made at that point. Bruce will be gone next year and his playing time will decrease substantially this year. Theres no telling when Crabtree will sign so its a damn good thing we have Jones this season to rely on.
Pretty much. That being said our history over the past 5 years suggested we weren't going to do anything additional to significantly upgrade ourselves at receiver.
If you gave those arm chair GM's a crystal ball and said Bruce would be coming back and we're going to draft Crabtree I bet you no one would complain about us signing him. It really wasn't about him it was about us actually upgrading our receiving core this year.
I agree but my point is the complaining came way to early. Are we just going to hate on every move that isnt a blockbuster until we make one?

We have 2 B.J.s on our team! Sweet.
I don't anticipate B.J. to be any better than last years B.J....

are there going to be enough pass opportunities to go around?
and we are suppose to be a "run orientated" offense.
I hope we are a run orientated offense. With a powerful running game it will open endless possibities for our passing game.
