There are two parking carages, but one has been there for years next to the Techmart, and the other was under construction across the street before the stadium was even approved. Most of the Great America parking will be for the club seat peeps. Most other parking will come from companies all around. As for whether they will stop letting peeps park there, they have already signed contracts and will be taking in the $$$, so they wont be backing out.

Peeps forget tho that there will be less cars at the game to begin with tho because there are far more public transit options. I myself will be taking Light Rail.

LOL. Heavy rail just like Candlestick. Buses just like Candlestick. Only thing additional SC has is worthless and slow as crap lightrail.

LOL. Ya...OK. If you say so.

"Worthless and slow as crap light rail". LOL. OK.

I think you will find that ALOT of peeps in the South Bay will be using it.

Doubt it, hard to tailgate that way.

Not everyone likes to Tailgate. Anyone who wants to do so can park. Anyone who doesn't will be looking for public transit to get out of exorbitant parking rates. For me personally I live about a mile from a light rail station. I can walk to it. I can get to and from the game without ever getting in a car.

What's the rush? The lightrail is fast enough. Besides if you prefer to drive the parking situation will still be a lot better than a large majority of other NFL stadiums.

This...not to mention ALOT more ways to get out if the stadium if you ARE in a car.
Great pics. I think this place is going to be HELLA LOUD. It looks like the seats are going to be right on top of the field.

Section 410 row 11 for me

As far as parking, I will probably be staying at the Hilton right next door but we shall see.
Thanks, Marvin.
Anyone know how the wind is in that area? Surely it cant be worse than Candlestick?
It can get a bit windy at times, but nothing like Candlestick.

Hey Marvin, thanks for the pics and I had a question for ya. Is there a lot of airplane traffic? Hate to have those jet booming over the game.

I was there for about 45 minutes for the tour and didn't hear any, but I may have just been in awe of where I was. I'm pretty sure there will be some overhead traffic though

just read about it. I was hoping for Samsung but Sony is cool too. Based on the interviews I've watched on Fortune it sounds like they are seriously considering building in monitors or tablets into the seats somehow so its surprising to see Sony get the nod over Samsung. They keep talking about giving the customer a chance "rewatch a play from any angle right from their seat" i.e. a personal TV or tablet to view media content, or it could be a very terrible way of phrasing "we're going to have a ton of cameras and replay it on the jumbo screens".

The "rather then Hardware we want Software driven and open source stadium" comment from York in one of the interviews really intrigues me as well. Is York just spouting off young "hipster" techie language or does he actually know what he is saying because it would be dope if they had a lot of hardware and software built into the game day experience.

link to one of the interviews and this is the caption for it

"49ers plan $1 billion high-tech stadium San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York talks about his team's plan to build a software-driven stadium that will let fans to go online at an NFL game."

Which screams your going to have a tablet at your seat or at minimum a legitimate game day app for your personal cell phone to use during the game.

When he says software over hardware he means that people will use their own personal devices at their seats to re-watch things. They will provide the wireless and content but you have to bring your own phone/tablet/etc. They aren't going to put devices at each seat.

As I last read on the topic, the seats will NOT have screen attached, but will have clips or a holder to hold something should you bring it yourself. The "watch all angles" thing was intended to be an app of some sort that would run on your own device if you brought it into the stadium.
