Why not just keep this one....

Even the collar is 100X better....

The 49ers used that uniform as a base and gave it a more modern design, which is exactly what they said they were going to do.

the only difference is the color..................why make a fuss about it, especially considering that the Niners logo, in recent years, has taken a bolder look...........

The color is important. It's what separates us from the Arizona Cardinals.

Second of all, the color is not the only difference.

The sleve stripes and the neckline are totally different.

It would make sense to believe that the shade of red will be the same shade that's in the helmet.

The helmet looks lighter red to me.

I don't know but I think the new sleeve strip was designed with how it would look while wearing shoulder pads. I'm pretty sure those sleeve stripes will look more parellel and even with shoulderpads on.

I think...

Oh, good call. There might be something to this. The throwback's stripes don't really work well with the way players wear the uniform in today's game.

See Willis's shoulder.
Ladies and gentleman I give you the color Burgandy...

I don't mind it when the players wear it, since they will tuck it into their pads.

But I'm going to buy the new jersey and as a fan jersey.....I think the half finished stripe lines look

I've never been a fan of the stripes on the sleeve but at least they have tried something different with it.

Except you have to remember that they weren't made for, they were made for the players, they just sell them to you. If the NFL & teams didn't think they could make money selling authentic and replica uniforms, they wouldn't. Also, the players had an input on the design of these, I wouldn't be surprised if the stripes were their idea.

After looking at the back to the Willis away uniform, I do think the half stripes were done for this reason.

Notice the top stripe goes all the way around, its only the bottom two that are full. When tucked under the shoulder pads, the top stripe will be seen.

I remember a huge complaint about wearing the throwbacks were the sleeve strips. Jerseyes today are very tight and formed fitted unlike back in the 80's when the jersey's were very loose and the sleeves were huge.

I think these issues with the sleeve strip on the throwbacks were the primary reason why we see this new design.
Now I just want to see a couple players wearing them...just to see how it'll look on Gameday

So far
Home...ehhh
Away...ok
I love the design

I hate the color..... Needs to be a lighter red
I like the burgundy.

Represents the dark times of the dynasty .lol

Naw, but seriously, it looks good.
