If they had fired them right before, there would have been no time for the new regime to prepare. This scouting department had been preparing for nearly a year.

I mean it takes a lot to fire a GM, years of build up so I'm gonna assume they were dead set on firing him which should've been in February. IMO

Apparently most of the scouting group got fired too AND they knew it was coming before the draft. Surprised they didn't just draft every guy coming up on charges just to say FU to management.
