Not enough to hurt their salary cap going forward(as in then being strapped and can't pay their own guys etc). Wish we woulda made a move like this. Good for the Browns, now hope they trade up to #2 with us and give us some nice picks. I'm prepared to take Thomas but rather trade down.

Yep...it could give new meaning to the reference...oh, it's the Browns. Good move. They're talking on NFL-N now about how this may be posturing to offer more to get Garrapolo. They've no intentions of keeping Osweiler, who's career is flushing itself down the proverbial toilet. Jones still thinks he may get something for Romo...but I don't see any team shelling out the $14M Romo would get in Dallas. I think Houston just sits tight 'til they begin organized activities in Dallas...and Jones finally realizes his fellow GM's are smarter than he thought and releases him.
This is a great move for the Browns and something we should have done. It's textbook NBA contract trade, the Browns may be trash now but honestly this approach of building draft capital will get them places.
Brock already on his way out and Cleveland might even get a 3 or later pick out of it. Who cares if they bought a second round pick, every owner has tons of money but each team only so many picks

Its been said that they will release so Browns are still possibly taking a QB #1 overall. Lynch has got to start playing mind games saying they want a QB at #2 so Browns feel compelled to take a QB with the #1, allowing Myles Garrett to fall in our laps

Myles Garrett is not falling to us. Browns would be complete idiots. They have 11 picks in his draft and can Garrett as well.

I fully expect him to bring in QBs for workouts and maybe multiple ones for the guys linked to Cleveland.

That is a horrible trade for the Browns.
You are basically paying $16 million and a 2017 4th round pick for a 2018 2nd and 2017 6th round pick.
One the one hand - amazing, you got yourselves another seconded rounder next year (you now have three).
On the other - that 2nd round pick will cost you more than the top pick in the draft will over the next five years once you factor in the $16 million in guarantees plus the 2nd rounder's rookie salary.
The Browns just announced to the world that since they can't even overpay to lure free agents to come there they will use their cap to pay for the rights to players that don't have a say in where they go. Weird. And not good precedent.

So. It is genius. If this trade gets them the ammo to get the guy they want, 16 mill is nothing.

The guy flat out sucks whichever way he wants to cut it. May be he could have played for the Broncos whereby the D might have been able to hide how sh*t he really is. But, if the Texans' D couldn't carry him, then no one can do it in the long run.
The guy's career is pretty much over as a legit starter.
