I was watching him as an analyst and he really is very intelligent and has a good pulse for who players are both skill set wise and character.
Then I was thinking about the players that came in while he was here. Really him and Scott m built our core cast for harbaughs run.
He has deep ties here because of his dad coaching us too.
I could argue a lot of good points for him.
What do you all think?

I don't think he would work well with Kelly. Plus, I think he is too much of a jerk - I can't get over how badly he treated Alex Smith.

Hmm, he didn't do a bad job iirc at rebuilding. Doubt he would come back even if we wanted him though.

I have never heard of someone coming back to a team that fired them, Wade Phillips notwithstanding.

Nolan didn't get nearly the credit for upgrading the roster as he should've...unfortunately his HC record wasn't good, but he can and has recognized good talent. But, it's very rare to see a former HC rehired...it almost never happens. My personal choice is Mike Lombardi...for several reasons, not the least of which is he's the only guy to have worked for Bill Walsh, Al Davis and Bill Belichick. He's got the experience, knowledge and well-rounded philosophy to make the Niners competitive sooner rather than later.

Do you believe Aaron would survived Mike's ineptitude at developing a QB?

This is the same kind of thinking that makes people want Steve Young to be the team president and Mike Holmgren as head coach.

Let's b honest it was Scot McCloughan not baalke that was responsible for building this team...baalke had some nice pickups but the core superbowl team was all scott and nolan

Not true, Nolan has already publicly credited Baalke with having a lot to do with the selections of VD, Willis and more.
