No to Monroe. Cut Pears. Let the trio of youngins duke it out.
Your not gonna cut pears if they don't sign another vet...can't roll into the season with two low rd rookies and a 2nd yr RT with only two starts and conditioning issues.
Bring in Monroe cut pears ( save $3 million) give that cash to Monroe...give him a Andre smith contract 1 yr $3.5 million maybe $4 million and if he plays well extend him halfway thru the season.
At the very least he's an upgrade to pears for a season...I don't see him getting LT money.
This guy still hasn't signed anywhere?
I think he's keeping his cards close-to-the-vest.
Wait and see if a team loses a starter in TC and then make his move.

That or teams just aren't that interested? Yet.

Word is he wants to play LT, and more importantly wants the salary that comes along with it.
.....that's just not going to happen.

Welp there's that
Free agent OT Eugene Monroe announced his retirement after seven seasons in the NFL.
In his retirement letter linked below, Monroe cites health concerns as one of the main reasons for his decision. "The last 18 years have been full of traumatic injuries to both my head and my body," Monroe wrote. "That's why one of the first things I'm planning to do is to go to the doctor ... I'm going to get brain and body imaging scans, mental health assessments — anything that might help me get a handle on the state of my body and my mind." Monroe added he will continue to be a "vocal advocate" for medical marijuana research, especially as it pertains to treating CTE. Only 29, Monroe is not the first and certainly will not be the last to hang up their cleats early because of head trauma concerns.

Way to go Baalke and York. This guy would rather retire than play for this horrible organization.

Borland was merely the tip of the iceberg, Monroe joins a list of players that are retiring early for their own health. Can't blame him, health is the most important aspect of life. The days of players getting dinged and staying on the field are long gone. The phrase Not For Long (NFL) could be used for the entire sport in the not too distant future. When player Bernard Pollard a few years ago said that the NFL would be around for only another 30 years people thought he was just making noise. I don't think that's the case anymore.
