29 years old and he's gonna take a hiatus from football. How is the NFL gonna handle such young guys retiring and "taking a break" from football?

Wait for them to come back, or move on without them. The tail doesn't wag the dog in this scenario. You wanna quit?

He won't blow up to 400 lbs. He may actually eat Eddy Lacy.

I wonder if this is gonna be a precedent now? I'm sure players really need that 1 year off at times, I don't blame them for it. I would last 1 play max in the NFL, and it better be a kneel down.

Is this a sign that the Packers are a bad organization and people don't want to play for them?
I only ask because when a couple Niners retired, Niner fans were all over that argument.

Doubtless all of their fanbase will be calling for Thompson to be sacked.

Good for him. A lot of these dudes should retire early so their brains don't turn into mashed potatoes.

And the NFL wants to add more games and add more thursday night games. Their greed is shocking. It is clear players and coaches hate thursday night games yet they won't care until they are sued again for ignoring the saftey issue.
