Why hasn't Chip Kelly signed LaMichael James off the street?

I'd like to give him another shot..at least a spot in training camp and preseason. He was great on the Ducks, and he averaged 4.8 yards per carry with the 49ers, and had some great returns. He's biggest weakness was a fumbling problem, but that is correctable in young backs.

I thought his biggest problem was the bad habit of running backwards looking for holes to open.

It worked in College because he was fast enough to get away with it. In the NFL, Everybody Fast.
He also had a bad habit of getting tackled if the wind was blowing a little too hard. Fumbles, dancing, going down to weak arm tackles. He had more then one glaring issue.

Then he cried about lack of playing time behind the best RB in niner history
LaMichael James' Super Bowl fumble in the red zone is one of the most overlooked bad luck Niner moments of all time. He really shouldve taken more blame than he did, considering the final score.
Yup we were at the Balt 20 yard line. We would've at least gotten a field goal minimum. Then at the end of the game we could've simply just kicked another field goal to win it. Instead of having to go for a touchdown. Horrible. Got a love those injuries because Kendall Hunter was solid.
So this ain't happening though.
Seriously what the hell is going on with this?

Everything about that game just sucked.

The game started with like a 25-yard completion to Vernon Davis that was called back because of an illegal formation.
We stopped the Ravens on 3rd-and-short on their opening drive, but Ahmad Brooks cancelled it out by jumping offsides, which gave them a first down (and eventually, a touchdown). 7 points instead of 3.
...etc...

So many miscues in that one.

To use a poker term, we drew bad that whole game, after a season of drawing good all year minus 2-3 games.
