Really, and you don't think Bill Walsh was an advantage for the 49ers? I think you mean... "Brains trump Brawn"

Bill Walsh was a god, also that was a revolutionary offensive scheme. What type of crazy innovative plays do you think our SP coach Mcughany was gonna run? Special teams is just special teams, and if you're having a hard time learning the nuances playing in the special teams then you're a...

What kind of money is an NFL ST coach making per year on average?
Not that money correlates directly or always to performance or worth.

Any who - how can a bottom league team ST coach can be contracted the next season to a SB team?
Did the 49ers miss something in his ability that the panthers can see?

But he also is on record that he has never kicked a ball, and when coaching ST at 49ers never did much with out kicker....
How the f**k he get chosen by a SB team from last year? Based on this type of coaching?

Has a nice resume for a young coach. Just because the 49ers special teams sucked doesnt necessarily mean he was bad at his job. There is very little scheming involved on special teams, it comes down largely to talent and effort.
There are great coaches all over the NFL that coached on some really bad teams. Coaches that quickly find work are generally pretty well regarded. Meanwhile nobody is in a hurry to sign guys like Geep Chryst and Steve Logan.
Kelly in particular takes special teams very seriously. If Hayne screws up and puts the ball on the ground he'll be on a plane back to kangaroo land so fast it will make his head spin. Dont take the ball out of the hands of his offense.

Fair comments, but again bringing a specific player to validate your comment in this thread ??? It was not needed, and thread has nothing to do with him. FFS.
What I can't figure is we have last years SB playing squad, looking for a ST coach for whatever reason. one would suspect that team would attract a high number and high caliber applicants, and yet they went with 49er st coach that was pretty ordinary over the last two, seasons at 49ers, had player management issues and was pretty ordinary in media relations was
So let me ask, are you saying you rate mCoach that highly for his work at 49ers ? You really think he was that good, and just let down by the 49ers st squad ?
He really is that good based on his resume that it was a simple walk in for mcCoach at his next job at the SB playing panthers?
