How the hell did the now ex 49ers ST coach who just got sacked for being crap then go and sign a contract to the panthers who were just Runners up at SB 50 ?
Who,was the panthers ST coach that must have sucked so much worse at the job to get fired and then replaced mcCoach?
Is the coaching pool in the NFL for ST coaches that shallow?

I know that the panthers special teams coordinator Bruce Dehaven has been fighting through cancer so I'm not sure if he is retiring or what.

Jesus Christ, get over it already! All of Hayne's miscues weren't his fault, it was all on the coach. We get it

All niner fans would be well served reciting this old football cliche
"It's not about the X's and O's, it's about the Jimmys and Joes".
Talent beats scheme in the NFL, 100% of the time.

I am sorry to hear about the panthers coach on ST going through cancer, that is terrible.
Are coaching stocks in ST that shallow though that a SB team would need to sign a bottom team coach?

You have a favourite player? Glad you do. So do I
Hayne was benched longer then he played. I see no reason to even mention that name in this thread, unless you have brought some of your own hate. And don't bring JC into your point.
Back to the point of the thread.
I think the argument about the past 49ers ST coach being any good was won by the team "he no good".
So that my friend is the question, how can he then go on and sign with the SB playing panthers?
I just can't see the logic, other then to say the pool is very shallow for ST coaches.
Anyone else provide any logic to him getting a contrac to panthers?

I can see you still aren't getting it. The special teams performance is 90% the players on the field and how they are playing. There is very little scheming the ST coach does. Sure, every once in a while you see a creative trick play or fake or something, but these are very rare. Most St coaches are just rah rah guys that scream and say "LET'S GO! GET OUT THERE AND MAKE A PLAY!!". You're outright hatred for McGaughey is down right laughable. It's all about the players making plays and not what the coach did to prepare them.

It actually happens quite often. You should watch espn's sportscenter from the USA. Coaches do it quite often to light a fire under players. It happens in all major sports.

Sorry but disagree on your assertion, I would say none of the good coaches and not by many long term coaches, maybe it's a USA hing
Not sure in using espn as your reference on the subject matter is all that good either. We do have a web thingy over here so we can catch up,on general world sports, and I have to say it's a big rarity in world sports for the coach to come out and publicly highlight an individual player in a team sport for public ridicule. Let alone in two separate occasions in front of media
But again like you said, I don't get it, maybe your right and it's an American thing.
