For the individuals that use PFF as a bar to create discussion on certain players based on rankings graded out by this website. Aaron Rodgers just torched the Chiefs for 5 touchdowns and 333 yards, not a bad day at the office. PFF had him graded out as a -2.3, and actually gave him a -2.5 passing rating bahahahhahahahahahahahhaha, breathe, HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA #GARBAGE

I believe they backtracked and modified his score. He's now a -0.8. Still ridiculous. As time goes on, it becomes more and more clear that PFF is absolute garbage.

18. Marcus Peters, CB, Chiefs
Snaps: 214
Grade: +2.2
Summary: Only Stephon Gilmore has been targeted more, but in the face of these relentless attacks, Peters can console himself with the knowledge that he's won more battles than lost. Sure, he's been beaten for more touchdowns than any other cornerback (four), but he ties the position for most picks (two) and leads it in pass breakups (six).

How in the hell does a CB give up 4 TD's in 4 games and get a +2.2 grade? This grading system is very poor (but still fun).

They are revamping the site/system so perhaps they will improve. It's been obvious for a while that they skew results with biased weighting. OL has been weighted heavily in favor of running results, but it's a passing league now...why would they skew toward running? My thought is that they believed passing had less to do with the OL.

Oh yeah, their OL grading is very poor too. I know this personally from film review last year.
OLB's in the 3-4 might be the absolute worst though. As you're seeing more this year, OLB responsibilities are numerous. They drop back in coverage, they delay rush, they push up field (not to pass rush) to set the edge and THEN rush once secure, sometimes they just pin their ears back time and time again (usually the WILL), switch sides too/responsibilities, etc. Lots of differences in responsibilities of the SAM vs. the WILL. But the SAM is often 'graded' like the WILL. They grade anytime an OLB pushes into the backfield as a pass rush...and that isn't always the case. Many are knocking down passes (should be graded high), covering zones, chucking receivers at the LOS effectively, batting down passes, hits, QB pressures, sacks, edge setting, etc.

I saw that yesterday and figured that they must just grade Aaron Rodgers on his own curve.
Any QB passing for 300+ yards and 5 TDs not including Brady, Manning or Rodgers=+5
Brady, Manning or Rodgers passing for 300+ yards and 5 TDs=meh.

Prob the only position where I'd have confidence in their grading is DL. They were on Justin Smith's bandwagon at least a yr before everyone else, same with JJ Watt, Geno Atkins, etc.

Not sure if they changed their grade or if you misread the grade but here are Rodgers grades thus far. I have arguments with almost all stats that are used without context but they can be used as one snapshot of a situation. One stat PFF lists is the NFL rating, and Rodgers has the highest QB rating of 135 compared to the second highest, Dalton, at 121.

They changed the pass from -1 to 0.5 which brought his overall from -0.8 to .7 If you google Aaron Rodgers pff grade you will get a long list of articles about his original grade.

Thanks! But I'm not really interested in the history of PFF corrections. LOL! I enjoy stats and follow a number of sites including ESPN, Ourlads, Football Outsiders, and PFF. I like PFF because they are the only site that tries to quantify data to a greater extent...which makes them the least accurate...one of the things I learned in statistics...usually, the more you try to say the greater likelihood you will err.
Even with their saying Rodgers was just a little above average after the great game he had statistically, they also list the NFL rating showing he had the best week of any QB. This willingness to show conflicting outcomes makes me like them more.

Josh McCown threw for 457 yards, 2 TDs, 0 Ints and ran for a touchdown last week - and PFF graded him as -2,3. After corrections, they improved his rating to a -0,3. In short, this website is garbage and their ratings are not to be taken seriously.
